Hello, my name is Johnathan. I'm 34. I like long walks in dark dungeons.
Kidding aside, well kinda, I'm looking for a group to play with. I've played table tops for years, but have had a hiatus for a while, and I'm looking to get back into a game. I've played primarily Exalted, Shadowrun, and 3.5/AD&D back in the day. There has been a couple others sprinkled in there such as Riddle of Steel, and Gamma World. So I'm very familiar with how various table top games work.
What type of game am I looking to play?
I like to play more of a balance between casual, and serious games. Casual as in not having to re-roll characters every other session, but serious enough to not waste an entire night, and not really play anything. Albeit, sometimes nights where nothing really happens, but laughter are ok, too.
What game am I looking to play?
I wouldn't mind playing any of the following: Iron Kingdoms, D&D 5th, Shadowrun, or Exalted. I would love to play Iron Kingdoms. I love the setting, and I like the D6 system it uses. I'm not really into the Cthulu type games.
What type of characters am I looking to play?
I like to play anything. I typically seek to fill the role that is needed, unless there is something I'm really wanting to play. I do not like to play evil characters, neutral who may have to make a hard choice, but not evil.
Do I RP?
Yes, or at least I try to. I aspire to one day be a great voice actor, despite my kid's laughter. Well, chances of that happening are very slim, but I think it would be awesome. I love the work that Matt Mercer, and the guys on Critical Role do.
What type of player am I?
While yes I like to min/max as most people do, at least the ones willing to admit it, I also like playing flawed characters, as they can often be more interesting than a character that can do everything. I try not to metagame as much as possible, but think of how my character would actually behave in a situation, no matter if it's something I think "I" would personally do.
What times am I available?
Well as my title suggests, anytime after 9pm EST Monday, Friday, or Saturday. I am married, and have a teenager, so I tend to play games later in the evening, as there's usually less disruptions. With that being said, it usually works out for me playing with people from the PST timezone. I typically go to bed about 1:00 to 2:00 am, giving me about a 4 to 5 hour session.
I look forward to finding a great group to play with. Hopefully you're that group!
