Tide
of Retribution
The
village of Palma Flora is known for its vibrant green foliage, its
competitive shark-hunting tournaments, and a sweet cocktail that
shares the village's name. Lurking in the Sharkfeather Abyss, an
ocean trench just west of the village, is a small clan of some dozen
sahuagin that has grown weary of the shark hunters of Palma Flora.
Year after year, the sea devils have attacked the shark hunters in an
effort to spoil the tournaments, but their small numbers have seen
them consistently defeated by the hunters and the village's hired
mercenaries. However, things have recently changed. Palma
Flora does not look like a place in need of heroes. However, as a
devastating event hits that will forever change the village, this
tropical paradise needs some heroes.
The
Module and Character Creation
Tide of Retribution is a
module that takes the players from levels 1-3 and is set in
Wildemount, in the region called the Menangerie Coast, starting in a
village called Palma Flora. Please consider why your character would
be in this village when you think of a backstory. Also, keep in mind
to create a character who is interested in working with other people
and who is willing to fight. In short, please make an adventurer.
For creating your
character, all official Wizard of the Coasts books can be used (as
long as it makes sense within the setting). Any Unearthed Arcana or
Homebrew must be approved by me beforehand.
Ability Scores will be
determined by standard array
[15,
14, 13, 12, 10, 8].
Characters will be
created during session zero. I recommend to have a basic idea of your
character, but not to build it too much just yet. That way, you can
work with me and the other players during session zero to build a
comprehensible party, determine if and how your characters know each
other or if some might even have joined backstories.
Playing
at my Table
Sessions will take from 3
to 4 hours.
Players of all experience
levels are welcome, including new players.
Swearing is fine.
However, I ask that everyone around the table treats each other
respectfully. An forms of racism, sexism, abelism and other forms of
discrimination between players is prohibited.
In game there will be
serious topics such as violence, death, murder, etc. But there will
be no excessive gore and I tend to keep my games in a lighter tone,
even if the party is fighting monsters. Not on the table/ in the game
will be any forms of sexualised violence. Torture, should it come up,
can be discussed but can only happen off screen. Romance and sex will
be not be part of the game.
This game does have adult
themes such as kidnapping, murder, racism, etc. However, before the
game starts I will send everyone a consent checklist in pdf format,
so I can make sure to remove and avoid any potential triggers in the
game. The goal of this game is to have fun with other people, for
that we have to make sure it is a safe space for everyone.
About
me
Hi, call me Spring! My
pronouns are she/her.
I've come to tprpgs
through Critical Role and now want to run a campaign in that
wonderful world. I started playing as a dm in a homebrew setting in
January 2018, then also branched out to play as a player and have
been in both the dm's and player's seats ever since. Currently I have
been running a weekly game in a homebrew setting for about a year and
am playing in one more game. I am very excited to run a module!
Immediately after reading through Tide of Retribution I knew that I
wanted to run it.
About
using the Critical Role setting
I've been following
Critical Role since 2016 and am familiar with the setting. However, I
am not Matthew Mercer. I will do my best to bring Wildemount across
as authentic as possible, but I might tweak a thing here and there,
which is normal practice among dms. As soon as you start running a
game in a preexisting setting, it becomes your version of that
setting.
Please do not explain
things about Wildemount to me during the game, except if I ask if
anyone of you players knows something that I can't remember in that
moment. I will make things up on the spot, because that what all dms
have to do. But I promise, I will do my best to keep the setting
intact. Constructive criticism is
always welcome, since I want everyone to have fun at the table.
Concerning
Payment
Session zero is totally
free! In session zero, we meet as a group for the first time, create
characters and I will teach new players the basics. After that you will have
to pay half price for session one, after that payment will be in full
for subsequent sessions. Payment is always due within 72h of the
previous session (ex: You will have to pay 7,50 € within 72h after
session zero, 15 € after each subsequent session for the next
session). This game will require
payment to participate. Roll20 is not responsible for any payment
transactions and cannot enforce any private arrangements.
Should you not be able to
make a session and let me know at least 24h in advance, the payment
you already made for that session will be considered payment for your
next session.
The payment method used
is paypal.
Requirements
We will be using a
discord server and discord voice chat to play, so you need to have
discord. You also will need a mic (usually laptops come with a built
in one, just make sure yours works). A decent and stable internet
connection helps.
If you want in on the
Adventure please post your application here or send me a private message! Game Time: Friday 8:00PM GMT+2, if possible starting May 14th
