Tags in the Journal tab don't appear to be searchable for my players. We thought this was weird since tags are searchable in the Compendium tab. I spent quite a chunk of time entering tags to make it easy for them to find things, so I was surprised and disappointed. If it had said "only available to DM" I'd never have bothered. Are we missing something here?

No, you're correct.  Players don't have a search feature at all in the Journal.  With the API (A Pro Subscriber Perk), I have a script that provides indexing and search, but even the API can't access tags.
