Player Tokens vanish when changing maps

Prolly a simple error on my part but when I change the map and move the read bookmark thing to the new map all the player tokens on the board vanish and i dont know how to stop it.  They have to place new ones each time on the map when i change it - its annoying so I am hoping there is something I am overlooking.  players drag their name from their character sheet to the map to create token Play a scenario in d&d 5e on map change map using page bar move the red bookmark to new map all the tokens are gone players have to recreate token by dragging again.

Tokens are unique to each map. If they were not, it would be very difficult to split the party or to set up encounters beforehand. It would also mean that any monster you placed on a page would be on all pages. This is assuming I have understood your issue correctly. Also, Players should drag their token from the Journal Tab to the map, not from their character sheet. Dragging from the character sheet only places an unlinked graphic. Dragging from the journal will place an instance of the saved default token.
ok - thank you - that is correct on what I was asking and it makes sense - I will let them know to drag it from the journal and not the character sheet
Also, as GM when you finish one map and move to the next one -- assuming the current PC tokens are still 'correct', you can select them all (click and drag a square around them) then press Ctrl-C to copy them, go to the next map, and press Ctrl-V to paste them all at once in the new location where you want them to 'arrive' on the map.
Awesome work around - Thank you so much

Less of a workaround, and more the intended behavior.
