System: Star Wars Edge of the Empire
Time: Today, Friday 7/18/2014 at 11:30 PM EDT (GMT -4 i think?) [This time is set in stone, will not change]
# of Players: Looking for 4-6 (prefer 4, but six is my upper limit)
Technical Stuff: Need a mic, don't need a cam. Gonna run the game off of Teamspeak, maybe vent, but most likely teamspeak. So get that if you want to play, its free.
Ok folks, this is going to be pretty simple. Just a fun little one-shot to get people going. The burning question: do you have to be familiar with edge of the empire? Absolutely not. In fact, what I would prefer is utter tabletop newbs. If you've never played a game, but are looking to, come on in. If you've only had a few sporadic sessions of this system or that, you're more than welcome. Why newbs only? Simple, you don't have too many bad habits, just a few ingrained by videogames and such, but I can bleed that out of you real quick. So I suppose, I'm looking for more easily mold-able people.
Now, if you are a tabletop veteran here's what you need: you need to be a Role-Player, not the other kind. For those that don't know, Edge is a very narrative system. That having been said, if you can't RP it, I'm not going to let you roll it. I don't care if you're a pilot and that's all you do, rp it or don't roll it. Pretty simple yes?
Next up: No Force users. No force sensitives. In fact, for all practical purposes the force does not exist. And finally, no you may not make a character before hand. Just think in concepts. I do not, DO NOT, want to see character sheets before hand. If you submit me one, you are cut. I don't give a damn, you are cut cause you apparently can't read. Now, I swear like a sailor, if that bothers you you shouldn't join. So I wouldn't strictly say 18+, but ya know, just be mindful of that.
You don't need the books, you dont need to know the system. You do have to be decisive and not pouring over options for hours because we are going to character build together and then get rolling. So, if you are an optimizer who can't help himself, recognize your limits and bow out. If you are an optimizer who can turn that part of your brain off and just have fun, then come on in.
What is the game about? Well the answer to that is tricky, and one id rather discuss over voice chat. We'll talk through some options and decide based on what the group wants to do. I plan for about 70% role play and 30% combat, but in reality that's up to the group. If you are a pack of murderous psychopaths, I'm not going to stop you.
Look forward to hearing from you guys. Hopefully I'll meet you all the galaxy far, far away.
