Three players looking for a GM to start a new game. About the game We don’t have a preference about setting and will be happy to work with whatever the GM wishes to run, be it an established setting, published campaign or partially or completely homebrew. We would like to use expanded content/rules from things like Xanathar’s and Tasha’s but don’t mind sticking to base content if the GM would prefer. We are all interested in something fairly roleplay focused and something with a good balance of fun/lightheartedness to impactful story driven content, in other words something that would allow for a good amount of downtime/not feeling under a constant time pressure but with potential to develop into something epic as the story progresses. We would like to start at either level 3 or 5 as none us particularly enjoy the gameplay of 1st and 2nd levels before classes begin to come into their own. While we would ideally like to keep it to the three of us as players as we all know each other, know that we will work well together and for the ease of scheduling, we know that the game is usually balanced for larger groups so with this in mind we would likely be able to find another player or two who we know, if the GM thinks balancing for three players would be too difficult. Ideally we are looking to play on Roll20, Tuesday evenings around 7pm GMT, either weekly or biweekly depending on schedules but as with most other aspects of the game, we can be flexible with this. About us We are three 30ish year old men from England who have known each other since secondary school, with a range of D&D experience between us; one of us has about two years experience as a player across two campaigns and a handful of one-shots with a mix of in person play and Roll20 play. One of us has about a year of experience across one campaign and a handful of smaller games mostly on Roll20. One of us has only a handful of hours experience as a player but a bit more experience as a GM with plenty of understanding of the game mechanics, again with a mix of in person and a bit of Roll20 play. Long story short we have a mixed experience level but all know enough of the basics to not be considered new players and between us we will be more than capable of helping each other out so teaching the basics/managing the mechanics of our characters shouldn’t be a concern for the GM. Also, please don’t be put off/intimidated by joining a group of people who know each other very well; we are all open and friendly people who are just looking to have some fun. We will welcome anyone willing to GM this game for us.
