After many days of traveling through the frontier, you finally see an opportunity for some respite as you spy a rustic wooden sign with the painted words "Welcome to Blackwood." Walking along the trail leading into the center of the village, you feel no comfort or warmth. In fact, you can feel the sense of doom that shrouds this village and its people. The villagers seem weak and underfed, and they stare distantly into nothingness. You hear a commotion coming from the center of the village, at the small community well. Several villagers surround a young woman in robes who frantically pleads, "You must listen to me! It is the well water that pollutes this village, and all of you must stop drinking from it! Please listen to me!" The Weeping Tree is a 3rd edition D&D module from Fantasy Flight Games that I've updated for 5th edition D&D. This adventure is a combat-heavy site-based encounter and dungeon crawl with a little bit of NPC interaction. This is a game for 4-5 players at level 4. We'll complete this adventure in a single session lasting approximately 3 hours. We'll be using a 27 point buy for stats. Players have starting class equipment available to them. Player inventories will be subject to DM approval. Players may use D&D official source material from Player's Handbook , Volo's Guide to Monsters , Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes , Xanathar's Guide to Everything , Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide , Van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft , or any of the campaign or campaign companion books (e.g. Hoard of the Dragon Queen or Elemental Evil Player's Companion ).
