Directional Daylight Mode - Dynamic Lighting

I'd like to have a directional option for the Daylight Mode. Ideally this would have light come in from one edge of the map (technically from outside the map, if you didn't want it to be directly east or directly west, for instance), or it could be by having light emit from an entire object and not just the center so you could stretch an object across an entire edge of the screen on the lighting layer. Having some way to set shadow length would also be great, so rocks or trees or buildings didn't cast infinitely long shadows. This would be great for maps that have a mix of outdoors and indoors, but where you still want the sunlight to cast parallel shadows from the buildings and trees.
