This game will require payment to the Game Master at a
rate of US$20 payable at the start of each session through a 3 rd
party site. Roll20 is not responsible for any payment transactions and cannot
enforce any private arrangements.
Once, they ruled an empire that lasted thousands of years.
Defeated, humiliated by their ancestral enemies, the dragons, they have
wallowed in resentment for millenia. Now, they will rise again, and reclaim
their birthright, as soon as they decide who will lead them in this new era.
While the giants struggle for dominance, thousands of smallfolk will be
trampled underfoot. The Sword Coast needs heroes, and they've got to be larger
than life - because the enemy is. When raids led by hill giants and excavation
parties of fire giants menace the scattered rural communities of the North, the
leaders of the great cities find themselves at a loss - where is the Storm
King, the voice of reason that has kept the giant races at relative peace for
generations? Our heroes must begin an epic journey across the savage North, to
discover the cause of the giants' unrest.
This is a long-term campaign played weekly at the same time
for three hours. Play will begin at 5th level, and continue using milestone
leveling to level 12 or above. All game materials will be provided through
Roll20. The game is probably the most sandbox-friendly official published
adventure for 5th edition D&D. Players will largely be able to choose their
own way around the Sword Coast, and the way with which they want to approach
each problem. The campaign favours bold, adventurous characters willing to take
great risks. The "savage" part in Savage North is definitely
highlighted here. As the giants grow increasingly restless through the course
of the story, the stakes and the peril will also increase.
While there will be plenty of moments for difficult
character decisions and roleplay, swashbuckling action will take up much of the
adventure. It is difficult to give any type of content waring for such a large
and sprawling campaign world. During our first session we will discuss any
topics that we will like to avoid as a group during the campaign. Of course,
everybody should feel empowered and entitled to speak up at any time if they
are unhappy with any events, descriptions, or language used in the game, so we
can resolve any issues out of character.
