To apply or find more information, see the listing discussion! https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/308599/mta2e-the-sundered-world 5500 BCE. In the shadow of the Fall, the Wise stand as champions and protectors of Neolithic villages. Without a Gauntlet, Shadow and flesh mingle. I am looking for a party of 4-5. One for each Path max. (Post your applications in the application discussion listed at the very bottom.) For session 0 have three different Path concepts you are *eager* and *wanting* to play, and we'll decide as a group which player is running which Path. This will be a roleplay-heavy game with a great many mysteries and a 'survival' element. This is not a 'play to win' game. I will be picky with the applicants and not be accepting detracting concepts or players only mostly interested in throwing fireballs. WELCOME! Hey, I’ll be your Storyteller. I welcome everyone to my table to have fun and enjoy themselves but not at the expense of another or the story. New players are, of course, more than welcome to join in the chronicle. I enjoy telling a good story and weaving character backstories in as much as possible. THE GAME The average game will last about 3-3.5 hours with a short break in the middle. I would prefer to run the game on Tuesdays and will start at either 2 or 3pm PST/PDT. As this game will have backstory elements and aspects that deal with individual character development, I ask y'all not to spoil your characters for others and to allow each other to discover the backstories, flaws, etc organically through roleplay. Greatly inspired by the Dark Eras chapter of the same name, the Sundered World is a campaign set 'shortly' after the Fall and prior to the Sundering. This is the time of Pangea and one of the cradles of civilization, the Vicna, The People. I will be drawing from sources within many of the World of Darkness and Chronicles lines, so don't explore too deeply. Mysteries of the modern age will be experiences. Assumptions will be proven false. 'Canon' may change. History written, perhaps forgotten. Session 0 will involve a collaborative character generation. Other house rules will be introduced and explained during session 0. This setting is very different from any other iteration of Mage and has its own set of published rules to support it. SOFTWARE/PLATFORMS We will be using, Roll20 for rolls and visuals Discord for audio and between game chat Google Drive, no account required, for backstories and notes Quality headset required! RULES - This is not a play-to-win game. This is a cooperative game though there might be some elements of competition as characters pursue their obsessions. Make and keep the game fun for everyone. That means try not to hog the limelight but also we appreciate the player characters that help keep the game moving. - This is a World of Darkness game and the characters are on a slippery slope trying to avoid rapture, apathy or whatever is appropriate for their backstory/arc. We are also dealing with Spirits and the Abyss. Sometimes the story of a 'fall' is just as likely as the story of a hero. Be accepting of that. Allow your character to change and grow through experiences in a campaign. - Do not participate in the game whilst under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Enough said. - Be respectful. I don't care if people are cussing but NO slurs. That includes sexist, racist, and other words. In character or out. We also don't want any of the -isms that make life hell built into our character. and will not be accepted from players either. ie: No homophobia, misogyny, racism, etc. - This game will use a system of Lines and Veils. Veils are things that participants are OK with having in the setting but do not want 'on screen'. This might include things such as sex and physical interrogation (torture). Lines are things that participants do not want to be a part of the story, at all. This would include things such as animal cruelty, violence against children, and sexual violence or harassment. As part of the discussion I will have with each player, this will be discussed. - We are all human, we all screw up. Have patience, laugh a little, let others learn. - Don't metagame information your character doesn't have. Until you are told by the storyteller otherwise, don't assume your character has any particular knowledge of the Mysteries. - Don't interrupt or talk over other people. - Have fun.
We currently have 2, maybe 3 players. Running Session 0 tonight!
