Hello, everyone! My name is Breanna, and I'm currently DMing a modified (as you do) version of Curse of Strahd. Recently, a couple players had to drop, and I've been wanting to give the campaign a little bit of... new blood, you could say, by adding a few more people to the party! As mentioned, the campaign has been modified and changed up, so even if you've played CoS before, it should be a whole new experience. For one, I started the game from the other end of the map and follow a more linear process of A to Z. So far the group has covered around two and a half chapters, as well as one homebrew side quest. The game's not in its infancy but it's still very much learning to walk, so to speak. This means newcomers wouldn't be dropping in midway through the campaign and miss a lot of what has happened. But I will be doing a little recap to give an idea, that way you can decide if you're comfortable i.e. maybe this is too late for you, maybe this is just a fine place for you to start, and whatnot. (It'll be at the very end of this post marked with spoilers--while elements of the plot have been altered, it still has plenty of canonical content.) Here's what we're looking for: Game time is 10 AM AZ MST USA every Sunday; sessions usually run 3 hours (10AM to 1PM) You must be at least 21+ years old You must be comfortable with horror and spooky scary stuff (and a little gore here and there); explicit sexuality is reserved for DMs between players and not allowed in game Games are played on roll20, voice chat is done on Discord This should go without saying, but racism, sexism, homophobia, and any hate of any kind will absolutely not be tolerated, and if you're uncomfortable with anything mentioned above, do not respond to this post; behavior of this sort will instantly kick you from the group, no ands, ifs, or buts. You can be a veteran of D&D or a total newcomer; I've been playing and DMing for years now and I still get confused with mechanics and rules. The point is to be patient and respectful... which you should be regardless. Don't expect this game to follow the rules too rigidly either. This game is going for a party focusing on neutral and/or good alignments, but those are always subject to change, so keep this in mind for character creation; needless to say, no murder hobos This campaign is a combination of RP and combat, please be comfortable and open with both! If you can meet the guidelines above, then please feel free to respond. However, before you do, I implore you to think up a character and give a little pitch. Even if it's just "I was thinking of bringing in a firbolg cleric". It doesn't need to be a resume, but it gives us an idea of what to expect and how you play. The campaign currently has three active members; the party consists of: Alistair (half elf wizard), Lai'rei (wereraven artificer), and Maria (human variant druid). Keep them in mind if you're one who likes to focus on rounding out parties. QUICK SUMMARY OF GAME SO FAR ( SPOILERS FOR COS) : A party of adventurers have found themselves trapped in Barovia after discovering a pack of werewolves have kidnapped children from the city of Daggerford. Speaking with the Vistani, a people native to Barovia, they learn of the dread plane's cursed tyrant king, Strahd von Zarovich. The group defeated the divided clan of werewolves, in the process forming an alliance with the werewolves who were opposed to the kidnappings. The party resolve to find a way to lift Strahd's curse, or die trying; they encounter druids upon the ancient Yester Hill and fight monstrous creatures terrorizing small villages. After being informed they might uncover further information on Strahd at the Amber Temple, the group explore the mostly abandoned edifice, surprisingly befriending an amnestic lich who guides them through the catacombs where they face more creatures and temptations of great power. The group is nearly finished exploring the Amber Temple (with a few changes and a few new faces), and will hopefully be gaining more allies... I do detailed recaps of each session in the campaign's forum, so new players are free to peruse them for a more fleshed out account of the campaign so far. This also includes NPC and PC guides. As I said, we're looking for at least 3 new players (4 if we wanna push it). I will respond in DM to those we've chosen. Once we've made our decisions, I'll include an edit to this post stating the offer is closed and due for future deletion. If I haven't responded to you by the time the edit goes up, it means the players have been chosen. Thanks for your time! EDIT: Thanks for all the responses! Group is currently deliberating and hopefully by Sunday/the following week, we'll have made our choices and contact those picked!
