old(er) fart looking for mature group

hey folks! so i've only played a handful of campaigns before and, alas, most of them were a bust due to some fairly younger players with a great deal of built up... zest? heh. looking for a group for more mature players who can delight in the roleplay and creative solutions just as much as the combat. i might need a bit of coaching when it comes to the nuts and bolts, but i'm a quick learn and totally open to various play styles (and i'm also quite a bit of a goof). both voice and video are options for me - i've become rather adept with zoom since the world turned upside down. i am in CST and available most evenings on weeknights and weekends are an option (i mean, *cough*, i lead a very glamorous and busy social life hehe). i am only familiar with 5e, but willing to try other systems and as i'm still somewhat a newb, i'm really only looking for free games for fun. i've been crafting my next support druid for some while and hoping for at least a somewhat flexible & friendly dm - if you think you might have the group for me then by all means don't keep it a secret!
You can increase your odds of finding a group by including some often asked information in your title or post.  Time zone, times, and days of availability are an essential start.  If you have a preferred system, that's worth mentioning, as well as if you're willing to try new systems or systems other than 5e (because non 5e can sometimes get a better response).  Also if you're willing or unwilling to join a paid game because that will cut down the responses.

That's compatible with a campaign I'm considering starting.  If I start a Thursday evening (approx. 6pm PST) campaign with the PF 1e ruleset, should I keep you in mind?
If you start that Pf1e game I’m interested.
I'm trying to recruit people for a hardcore grim and gritty 18+ Twilight 2000 4th edition post-apocalypse survival set in World War 3 Europe.  It's going to be heavy role-playing with mostly depressing themes, balanced out by rays of light amidst the omnipresent darkness of societal collapse, with some occasional combat. Someone who is Goofy would be able to add some lightness to the grimdark setting. I'm 55, I am retired from active-duty US Navy, living in Thailand, writing genre fiction novels. i'll be running games in my time zone that will end up being played on Sunday Tuesday or Thursday nights starting at around 8 CST 9 EST 6 p.m. PST on those nights. I get what you're saying. A lot of groups I had were wrecked because I told people "don't be trying to date or hook up with women in the group" and they invariably ignore that and then the group detonates because the women aren't here to get stalked, or receive random anatomy pics in their PM box.
