So I've recently come back to Roll20 after an extended hiatus due to IRL responsibilities. Yuck. I've looked for some games to join, and nothing really popped out to me as super interesting. Like always, when I can't find something to play I start looking for something to run! I ended up settling on SIFRP! It's one of the systems I really love to play, but I never get a real opportunity to. Of course Game of Thrones is awesome and medieval intrigue is one of my favorite things to explore in TTRPGs. I'm more a fan of the books, but if you like either this game will likely be fun for you! I try my best to narrow things down and start with a concrete idea of what I run before I come to the table. It just helps keep things cohesive if there's a strong idea of what the campaign should be about before sitting down. So there will be a decent amount of Buy-In related to this campaign. Important Stuff to Look at: Time & Day: My evenings are pretty open at the moment. So I'm planning on starting our sessions between 5-7PM CST. Any day between Sunday and Thursday is good for me. I know this is a big range of time and dates, but I'm casting a wide net. Frequency: Every week until we can't play no more! I'm looking for long term investment here. Length: 4-6 Hours. Stuff moves slow on the with online play. I just can't get behind a 2 hour session. I shoot for 4 hours every time, possibility of going to 6 if everyone is down with that. Players Needed: 4-5. Theme: I like a good mix of everything the system has to offer. I'm interested in exploring intrigue a bit more, but I like combat and war as well. I tend to be a very Sandbox GM, so I'll cater the game to the characters you make and the stories you pursue. Starting Time Period: We're starting 4 years after the end of the Blackfyre Rebellion. It's a pretty popular time period that's far enough removed from the show that we don't have to worry about any meta bothering us. Plus, come on. Targs are cool. Starting Realm: We're gonna be starting in The Reach. It's a very large territory with a lot of Houses. It's also a lot more courtly than most of the other realms, which helps with the intrigue aspect of play. I'll be honest. I'm tired of being The North or Dorne every time I get to be in one of these games. Characters: I know this will probably bum some people out, but I promise there's a reason behind this rule. All of the characters will be children of our House. Not retainers, not bastard brothers of the lord or wards of another house. Just Heirs. There's a story behind this rule, and it's not a pretty one. Other Stuff: This is Game of Thrones. There's bad stuff that happens in this world. It's not Generic fantasy land where anyone can be anything without worrying about the stigma that comes along with that. I'm an adult, I can handle darker more mature themes. I expect the people I play with to be able to do the same. You likely know the setting of Game of Thrones if you're applying for this. Keep it in mind.
