[Players Wanted][LMoP][EST Evenings][5e] - DM Looking for Players for New, Long-term Campaign

Edited 1644515364
Hi all, I'm looking for players interested in starting a brand new, long-term campaign. Sessions will begin around 7 PM EST and last 2-4 hours or whenever the group feels like it's quitting time. The day we will play will depend on player availability in the application below. We will begin at level 1 with the Lost Mines of Phandelver module and progress into either Curse of Strahd or Storm King's Thunder afterward depending upon which the group is feeling. We're going to be using Roll20 as well as Discord for voice chat during sessions & memes otherwise. New & experienced players are both welcome. 5e is easy to pick up so don't worry if you are new. The only requirement is that you have never played or ran the Lost Mines of Phandelver, Storm King's Thunder, and Curse of Strahd modules. About Me: I played D&D as both a player and DM in college and want to get back into it. I will warn you that my skills as a DM are probably a little rusty right now but should shine like diamonds in no time. I personally really enjoy the whole worldbuilding, exploration, & group problem-solving aspects of D&D, so you should expect a healthy dose of those things in the campaign. But I'm really fine with running whatever game the players want. If you're happy, I'm happy. I think I am generally pretty easy-going and open, but so does everyone so you'll have to take my word for it. If you are interested please reply or discord message me (wmiz#2567) with the following: Name: Whatever name you want me to call you. Could be your real one, could be His Most Excellent Galactic Overlord. Age: General or specific is fine, eg: "25" or "mid-twenties" Experience with D&D: Tell me a little bit about your history with D&D or RPGs. Tell me about past characters you may want to brag about. Don't worry if you are completely new, just put "I am completely new" Favorite Media: List a few of your favorite movies, books, videogames, etc. and why you like them. What you like about D&D: Tell me what comprises your perfect D&D game. What balance of combat, exploration, worldbuilding, etc. do you prefer as a player? What sort of characters do you like/want to play? Tell me a little about yourself as a person: Do you like long walks on the beach & Piña Coladas? Do you think that joke about self-introductions is insanely played out? I want to know answers to all these questions & more in this section! What day(s) works best for you: Let me know when works for you & when doesn't. That way I can choose a day to hold the game. Discord Username: Alternatively just add me. I'm going to do one-on-one, candlelit voice chat interviews after I sift through applications to make sure we're all on the same page. I look forward to hearing from you! If I left anything out or you have any questions about the game, don't hesitate to let me know in the comments. Others probably have the same question. And remember, as Matt Damon once said, "Fortune favors the brave in all things crypto and D&D, so buy shitcoin & join this dude's D&D game."
Which day(s) of the week will this be?
Name : Tyler or Zaz either is fine. Age : 38 Experience with D&D: A few years with 5e and a few more years with 3.5 and Pathfinder 1e.  Have played other tabletops as well such as Star Wars EOTE and D6. (95% of my experience has been homebrew worlds.  I have played some Kingmaker and Very little of the Rise of the Runelords which are both Pathfinder modules.) Favorite Media: My favorite game of all time is either Final Fantasy Tactics or Fire Emblem Path of Radiance.  Turn-based strategy games are easily my favorite genre.  Being able to control several characters with multiple different abilities is just really fun.  I don't watch a lot of movies or tv, but I enjoy Action or Comedy movies the most.  What you like about D&D : Everything.  Combat, Roleplay, Exploration, Worldbuilding, and Puzzles.  I like it all so any combination is fun.  I like to play characters who can grow.  I actually enjoy starting at level 1 because it gives my character more of a chance to grow through the adventure.  The characters I play are always loyal to their group, but the range varies.  From a revenge-seeking rogue to a divine sorcerer who believes it's his destiny to rid the world of evil or a Warlock that just thinks he's better than everyone.  As far as a specific class, Rogue is probably my favorite but I do enjoy playing all other classes as well.  The important thing is creating a character that fits in the world and has a reason to be adventuring. Tell me a little about yourself as a person : I pretty much get along with everyone. I like to crack jokes, and sometimes they are actually funny jokes.  I work as a store manager for a retail chain which means I make the schedule, which helps with the next question. I don't like to make excuses for failures.  Whether I succeeded or I didn't, the reason doesn't change the outcome.  I have a dog that hates animals smaller than her, but absolutely loves people.  I do not like Green Eggs and Ham. What day(s) works best for you: All days are equally good as I am usually off by 5 pm EST. Discord Username: Zazenna#9831
Name:  Moss Age:  18 Experience with D&D:  I've been playing on and off for 4-6 years and tend to try to make interesting and unique characters for every sheet I make  Favorite Media:  Big fan of anime and fantasy genre games and my favorite movie is The Princess Bride. The games I play the most are Skyrim and Pokemon but I also play Fire Emblem sometimes.  What you like about D&D:  Everything tbh! I love making characters and worldbuilding and puzzles I just find fun to figure out no matter the difficulty. I also like drawing up characters constantly to the point I sometimes dont use them cause I dont get the chance to. Ive played almost every class by now give or take one or two.  Tell me a little about yourself as a person: Im kinda shy around new people and I have anxiety but Im good at warming up to people after a little bit. I like listening to music and I really love drawing. I also dabble in animation although Im still new to it so its a process.  What day(s) works best for you:  All days are good for me! I get off work 5:30 pm est so as long as its after that I should make it  Discord Username:  MossFreckles#5942
Name:  As cool of a name of "His Most Excellent Galactic Overlord" is I go by Zach Age:  22 Experience with D&D:  I have been playing D&D for around 3 years now. I have DM'ed a few one shots and just finished Dm'ing year and a half 1-20 level campaign that was completely homebrewed by me where we had to stop a few sessions short of completion due to a falling out in the group. Favorite Media:  I recently got into anime and feeling around to see what types I like and dislike but for other stuff I am big on Assassin's creed, Destiny, Skyrim, and Dark Souls. What you like about D&D:  I love the creativity and customizability it provides. I have so many extra characters sheet because it's fun to get an idea and roll with it but sad when you have to put them away. I love social interactions and exploration the most as that's when the creativity comes into play. I usually play characters where I can contribute to the team in some way from being a defender as a barbarian (like when I picked up our small wizard and throwing him out of the way before combat to prevent him from being surrounded) or being a face with a changing warlock (made a goblin tribe believe I was their new God and we got free supplies). The last thing I really like is how there are ways where you can tweak the rules to customize the game to fit your table's ideal play style. Like in the Grim Dark setting I played in I had used a set of homebrews that allowed my players to become part monsters with transformations into vampires, weretiger, contract making devil, elemental, lich (the devil and angle in the group had great roleplay moments arguing a little before putting it off till later to deal with the bigger issue) Tell me a little about yourself as a person:  I live in Massachusetts and go to Worcester Polytechnic Institute for Mechanical engineering (Don't worry I won't play an artificer and say I can make a time setting accurate nuke with blueprints). I am shy around new people at first but quickly get out of that especially with D&D. What day(s) works best for you:  With the starting time being 7PM I can do Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays Discord Username:  my username is Zachary#8974
Name: I go by Munnin2, or you can call me Dave. Experience with D&D: 30+ years (made my first character at age 9). All Versions from AD&D to the present 5e. Favorite Media: I am a bibliophile with an incredibly large number of books that I have read over the years. It gives me a wide array of tools to pull from both during character creation and in game. What you like about D&D:: I am a huge fan of shared storytelling. I enjoy writing short fiction and view writing backstories as a means of honing my art. I really enjoy seeing different players reactions to an assortment of scenarios and coming up with unique solutions of my own at times.  Tell me a little about yourself as a person: I'm 40 years old, married with one kid (wife also plays 5e). I am an avid TTRPG player, autodidact  with a ground in formal academia. I have a wide array of personal life experiences in addition to my incredibly vast array of books I have consumed over the years. I am not a critical role fan, nor do I watch much Television. Typically when someone asks if I have seen x movie I will respond with: Does it come in book form?. I'm a traditionalist, I don't believe in modifying the game too much as D&D has an incredibly deep and rich lore that has an amazing foundation to start with. That being said due to my foundation in literature I know that in order for a world to be good the world itself has to be believable (Westeros, Middle earth are great examples of this) and thus I feel that homebrew that strays too far from it's source material is immersion breaking. I do feel that a DM should homebrew monsters though, to keep people guessing. Days: Monday, Thursday or Sunday. I am looking to add a second weekly game as I have an assortment of Bi weekly games on the other days, with Wednesday being my only every week game  Discord: Munnin2#0953
