Error in 5e Monster Manual Compendium for Abominable Yeti

Edited 1647360924
The last sentence in the Chilling Gaze ability for the Abominable Yeti in the Roll20 Compendium using the purchased Monster Manual content says " If the target’s saving throw is successful, or if the Effect ends on it, the target is immune to the Chilling Gaze of all yetis, but not abominable yetis, for 1 hour. " However, the content for the Abominable Yeti in the Monster Manual 5e or on D&D Beyond says the following "If the target's saving throw is successful, or if the effect ends on it, the target is immune to this yeti's gaze for 1 hour. " This has a significant impact on play when using one of these in combat, it came up during a game last night where the Abominable Yeti was able to use the Chilling Gaze effect over and over because the Roll20 description excepted Abominable Yeti from the effect. When it was looked up later in other sources it was found that the Roll20 text was incorrect. The Chilling Gaze text for the Abominable Yeti in the Roll20 compendium was taken from the text for the regular Yeti.

Hi David, It's mostly community support here on the forums, but if you wish to make sure Roll20 sees this and gets it corrected, the best place to do that is with a  Help Center Request . There's a category for this sort of error, and it will create a ticket for eventual correction.

Minor issue but irritating when it comes up during play and no one knows any better that the text is wrong.
