Dungeons and Dragons has fused with DOOM and Mad Max! The result is this metal as Hell campaign, keep reading if that interests you! The first layer of Hell, Avernus. Devils and demons locked in a 1000 year war plague this fiery domain. Hellish warlords rule the barren wasteland of Avernus, each of them has their own goals, but none of them will hesitate to be ruthless against any unlucky mortal souls that end up on this plane. The heroes have their own quest here, and the clock is ticking. Will they manage to save themselves in time? Will the evils of this place corrupt their souls? Will they choose to side with the devils, the demons, or neither? One thing is for certain, there will be a LOT of combat! Descent Into Avernus is an amazing module that is filled with action, never hits the breaks and constantly accelerates.  It is very combat heavy, multiple encounters every session. But the story is extremely compelling, giving the players room for some interesting roleplay. The original title of the campaign is "Baldur's Gate - Descent Into Avernus". Unfortunately, the "Baldur's Gate" part of the official module is infamous for how poorly it is designed, which is a shame because the rest of the book is breathtaking. In my version we completely overwrite the city of Baldur's Gate with the city of Elturel, which ties way better to the overall story. All of the players will be part of an ancient order called the "Hellriders", who were created centuries ago to launch an epic war against the fiends of the 9 Hells. The first part of the campaign will take place in Elturel, eventually leading to Hell. This part normally takes 2-3 sessions, after that it's straight to Avernus. It will be specialy designed taking each player's backstory into heavy consideration for a unique experience. On Session 0 we will discuss the rulings we will follow (for example vote if we want flanking or not), introduce ourselves, decide on the party composition and go over the way the campaign works. We will roll for stats, but everyone will use the numbers we roll up. If the rolls are bad we will go with point-buy/standard array for all. Players get a free feat at level 1 We will use the "X, N and O" cards as macro on Roll20. Players can expect a fast paced and rules light gaming experience. This game will require payment to the Game Master at a rate of 15$ each session via StartPlaying. Roll20 is not responsible for any payment transactions and cannot enforce any private arrangements.
