Name of Monster in turn order

Please make it the default to hide Monster names in the turn order. It can be hidden in the rolls they make in chat, but not much point when their names show up in the turn order. Nothing like having the name of the monster to appear to bring out the meta gamer in players. So currently you have to go into the the tokens setting and completely erase the name from the Name Plate box. Now whether or not the Name Plate box is checked, the name of the monster will appear in the turn order, unless you erase it and save it, making prep that much longer.
For speeding up combat when I have multiple monsters in an encounter, I have all monsters of the same type go on the same initiative. I then put an extra monster token for each monster type in the encounter on the GM layer. I select these hidden tokens when rolling initiative for the monsters instead of the ones visible to the players. That way the monster's names and initiatives rolls aren't visible to the players. It's important for the players to know in what order they can act, they don't really need to know that about their foes, do they?

The Check next to the Name is ONLY for the GM to be able to see the Name below the token! If you do NOT want Players to see the name of the Monster and as such don't see its name in the turn order, you need to uncheck the "see" option, visible when hovering over the three dots next to "General" (see above screenshot)
If you do this once per Monster and save the Token as default for that sheet you do not have to worry ever again that players are able to see the name of the monster in turn order!
It'd be nice for it to be defaulted, so either step is completely skipped. I think it's safe to say no GM wants the name of the monster to show.

Ask your Players if they are seeing the Monster name in the Turn Order. It may be that only you, the GM, is seeing the names. It may be blank for the Players, depending on what Nameplate settings your Monster Tokens have.
They see the names, because I had a new player and he keep calling the monsters by name, so then I asked and they confirmed they could see them in the turn order.

Ok, I hear you Hunter71. What is the origin / source of your Monster tokens? Do you pull these out of the Compendium and drop them on the tabletop? Purchased a module that has them already set up?  In many cases the "default" of Roll20 is what you wanted, NOT to show the Names until a GM turns them ON for Visibility.  There are a few possible ways that yours seem to be all "Nameplate visible". The first possibility is from a Product that you bought, that's set up like that (the default of that product, not the default of Roll20 generally). Second possibility (both for the Cause, and also a way to possibly fix this), it's an area of Roll20 game settings found outside the game, called Default Game Settings.
Yup, that was it, Thanks Gold!
