Hello! I am looking to play a D&D 5e game with just me and my husband as players, with a whimsical and magical feel to it and emphasis on spirit/fey type themes. Something light-hearted and fun! Most of the official modules can be pretty dark, heavy, and/or deadly. I want a lighter feel to the game. One idea I quite like would be to take the Eyes Unclouded series of adventures on DMs guild (They are Studio Ghibli inspired) and weave them into a full campaign, but I am open to something else if you have alternative ideas! Characters: My husband would play 2 PCs, and I would play one PC and one animal pet. That way we have a large enough group for some reasonable game balance. Gameplay: We are not looking for particularly deadly combat, or gritty survival details. The PC's should have a pretty good chance of surviving to the end if we don't do anything incredibly stupid. An equal parts emphasis on combat and roleplay would be ideal, but a little bit of skew one way or the other is fine too. Play Times: We would like to play once a week. Any of the following times (in Eastern US timezone) would work for us: Fridays from 8pm-12am(midnight) EDT Saturdays from 8am-12pm(noon) EDT Sundays any block of time between 8am and 8pm EDT Payment details: Payment will be done via paypal. The first "Trial" session will be paid after the session is completed, subsequent sessions will be paid in advance of the session. In terms of payment amount, I was thinking about $50USD per 4-hour session, as well as any required supplemental material you need to purchase to make the campaign (Eyes Unclouded off DMs guild, for example). Interview/Selection: The first step will be posting here or sending me a DM. Next we'll do an interview of sorts over discord so that both of us can feel the other out and determine if it might be a good fit. The final step will be doing a paid level 1 one-shot adventure of some variety to see if the three of us will mesh well together in an actual game. The trial one-shot should have both roleplay and combat aspects, but need not be on theme for the campaign - feel free to recycle something you've already got on hand.
