DMing on the move

I think and DM better if I can walk and talk while describing things in general. The mobile app however fails to basically let you do anything. So I have to resort to bouncing back and forth to my computer instead of using any mobile solution. I've tried the app and I can't even move tokens, so looking for solutions.

The mobile app is for character sheets only. There is no phone version of the Roll20 VTT. You might try a tablet, you can carry that around with you.
Will the tablet work better than the phone? If so, why? I'm a bit confused how the touch screen works for a tablet but not a phone. Are they drastically different for coding or something?

Aside from the size of the touch screen, there are probably programming differences and architecture differences such as CPU power, memory, etc. As powerful as phones have become, they are still not computers, or tablets even. With that said, tablet use is still not ideal. Especially older tablets. They just don't match the power you have with a full computer. But some folks do make tablets work for them.

Just to clarify: The Mobile App is for running a character sheet, usually at the table or as an adjunct to regular VTT play. It doesn't interact with the VTT in any graphical sense. It works fine on even a modest, older phone. Table on Tablet is a service that used to be Pro only but has opened up for all players as of 2(?) years ago. This basically lets you connect to Roll20 through a mobile browser. The requirements for Table on Tablet are pretty steep. I wouldn't try it with a device that is old enough to not be running the latest OS for its platform. I definitely wouldn't try it on a cheap tablet like a Kindle Fire. A sufficiently powerful phone in theory could run it just fine, but you are limited by a phone's tiny screen. The interface takes up a discreet percentage of the window area, and a phone doesn't leave a lot left over for the map. I would think it would be frustrating. The operation of the interface has mixed reviews on tablet. Some have no issues, some have problems selecting and moving tokens.
Hmmm, can't find table on tablet on the play store for phone. Is it linked somewhere? I actually got pro for this functionality but only ever found the character sheet phone app, which honestly is so minimal that it's not much use. Thanks for the replies, seems I just need a new tablet. Just a shame to buy one for this one purpose.

I don't think it is an app. You log in through a browser just like you do on a pc. https://help.roll20.net/hc/en-us/articles/360037774593-Table-on-Tablet
I don't think there's an app. Just connect on firefox or chrome on the tablet and enter the roll20 address

Just to verify: No, there is no app for Table on Tablet. It used to be a subscriber feature, but it just means that you can log into and use Roll20 in a browser on a mobile device. This was not always the case. Roll20 opened it up for all users a few years ago.
