Dynamic Lighting Problem

I've been regularly encountering a problem where dynamic lighting does not render when I have hardware acceleration enabled. The problem then is that maps become laggy and unplayable if I disable hardware acceleration.  Its been happening for the last 8 months, is there no fix?

Hi Masashi! Problems like this are often difficult to pin down the cause for. Have you tried using a different browser, or running Roll20 in a private browsing window? That can help diagnose where lag might be originating. Are you running on a desktop or a mobile device?
Hey! I'm running on a desktop and I've tried 2 other browsers and incognito. They've all been the same and either won't render the darkness/lighting or run extremely slowly without hardware acceleration.

Things to look for: How big is your map (number of squares at standard 1:1 map scale)? How complex is your dynamic lighting? Do you have dozens of tokens? Are NPCs using sight? (They should have vision turned off) Many light sources? (say more than a dozen)) Are you using the freehand tool to draw any DL lines? (Stick to the polygon or line tools; freehand creates too many points) Are you using Dynamic Lighting or Legacy Dynamic Lighting? Can you see a rotating cube in  this URL ? If not, the browser needs to be WebGL compatible (99%+ are). If you want to shoot me an invitation via PM (don't post one in open forum) and promote me to GM, I'd be happy to look around and see if I can find out what the problem might be.

Are you using Chrome?
Tried Chrome, Firefox and Edge. Map is 45x30 with only 4 light sources. No vision on npc tokens. Only using the draw square tool for blocking out walls for lighting and using dynamic lighting, not legacy. I can see the cube as well.

I can't explain the lag you are experiencing. :/ Can you remove the lag and keep the DL by turning off Explorer Mode? I have seen some anecdotal reports that this can dramatically improve performance. Of course, if this works, it sucks the Explorer Mode cannot easily be used. You can get a similar ability using  Light Crumbs , but it's not as robust.
I hadn't been using explorer mode either weirdly.  On a positive note, I decided to install a new browser, Opera GX, and tested Roll20 on there. Dynamic lighting works perfectly on there AND it runs smooth as silk!
