That sucks there was game groups where you faced that. My starting recommendation is vetting your gaming group using Roll20's ways to meet the players, and keep trying until you find the best fit. I think any game SYSTEM in the Roll20 LFG could be viable if the group members are good. In terms of Roll20 I'd say read the LFG listings closely, and click on the Roll20 profiles of the GM and participants before any Session Zero meetings, before even applying. Look for clues that you identify there. Recommended game systems to look into, The whole line of TTRPG's by Evil Hat, this stemmed from the "FATE" game originally, https://marketplace.roll20.net/browse/search?author=Evil%20Hat%20Productions Tormenta, ultra-popular RPG in Brazil, now going widely international, https://marketplace.roll20.net/browse/module/19562/tormenta20-introductory-kit Coyote and Crow, new game that just Kickstarted and released, has diversity at its core, https://marketplace.roll20.net/browse/publisher/1923/coyote-and-crow There are many others, or again, any game system on Roll20 with a good group! Happy adventuring.
