At full Capacity. Thank you for all the interest, no more submissions. Hi there, New DM, planning to start up a Wildemount Campaign soon in early 2023! I'm looking for players who are interested in telling their own story while exploring the themes and problems you'll face in this adventure. This will be a cooperative campaign, that focuses less on the setting of Wildemount (it's just a setting we're using) and more on the journey and development of the players and their characters. If you're interested in a long-term rough and tumble journey, where you want to immerse your character and find out who you'll be in this harsh continent, then I invite you to join us in the world of Exandria. TLDR: Setting and Theme: Set in the continent of Wildemount, in the world/setting of Exandria Campaign Theme/Atmosphere will be more serious. The DM asks that there be more focus on roleplay. Campaign Plan Starting at level 3. Will continue for as long as appropriate, maybe level 20? Campaign will FOCUS on exploring character arcs, as well as exploring the world and the themes described below.     There’ll be a central hook as well. Combat is intended to be lethal. Expect party members to go down or die potentially Dialogue for minor NPCs will likely be summarized, rather than playing out an entire conversation. Session Time: Every other Thursday night, 5:30 PST (6:30 MST) Starting early 2023 (January 2023) Character Creation will be described in the section below. If there are any concerns/questions at all, please don’t hesitate to discuss with the DM / Party. “I invite you all to come to Wildemount. Wander the dangerous valleys of Western Wynandir, sail up and down the Menagerie Coast, brave the wastes of Xhorhas’s scarred lands, and explore the ancient secrets in the regions beyond these war-embroiled realms. Follow the paths of the Mighty Nein or blaze your own trail. This is your Wildemount now.” (EGtW) Setting and Theme: Set in the continent of Wildemount, in the world/setting of Exandria Timeline would be after the events of Campaign 2 of CR. Setting and continent will be the same. Characters/figures of interest will be different. Do not expect NPCs/characters from Campaign 2 to appear in this campaign. Campaign Theme/Atmosphere will be more serious Exploring good and evil and what those definitions mean in Wildemount Please respect the setting and the theme/story moments the DM implements Some flexibility is available. Be aware that players can ask for flexibility and feel free to discuss any concerns about the tone. DM asks that there be more focus on roleplay DM will likely challenge the players to roleplay and invest themselves into the story/character more. If there are any concerns, please discuss with the DM Creating your Character: Rolling for Stats: Roll 4d6, drop the lowest and reroll ones. Roll two sets of stats. The player may choose which one to take. Background Feat: At the DMs discretion, the player may take a feat at level 1. The prerequisites are as follows: Feat must be related or tie into the background in some fashion. Sailor Background might take Athlete, or Tavern Brawler Avoid ASI and stronger Combat feats if possible. EX: No GWM / Sharpshooter / War Caster at level 1. The player is encouraged to go for a fun feat, focusing more on trying out a feat they might normally not take     rather than picking up a feat that rounds out their build. Race: The player is allowed to select from most races in the source books for D&D 5e. However, Please clear which race you want to select with the DM If you are selecting a certain race, you will likely originate from a certain location, especially if you start on the continent of Wildemount.     This may affect aspects and lore of the player’s backstory     Discuss with your DM the options and information you’d have available for your race. Class: When selecting your class, please note that some classes may have tie-ins to certain factions and organizations. Please be open and discuss with the DM about what tie-ins your character might have to the continent of Wildemount at large Campaign Plan Campaign will FOCUS on exploring character arcs, as well as exploring the world and the themes described above. There will also be a central hook that the players can follow. No hard time limit for this, but at certain points and moments, events will be set into motion that require action. Combat is intended to be lethal. Expect party members to go down or die potentially Players should expect the possibility of character death (including permadeath). If this style of combat is a concern or becomes an issue that inhibits player enjoyment, please discuss with the table/DM. Dialogue will likely be summarized, rather than playing out an entire conversation. For minor NPCs and information gathering, we’ll give a summary of what is gathered rather than playing out individual dialogue bits. SAFETY TOOLS Please mention any taboo subjects/directions you’d prefer the campaign avoid. Goal is to ensure players are comfortable at the table. Communication! If there are problems and concerns regarding anything (including player/DM behavior), respectfully communicate it with the group. If there are character interactions that concern or are unfun for anyone, please notify and discuss it.  Unless players are ok with it, please do not: Steal player items Engage in PVP Red Card / Yellow Card If at any point we get to a scene that becomes uncomfortable for the players, please utilize a red/yellow card system so we can skip the scene or move things along. Red card = hard stop. Not okay with what is happening, please end the scene. Yellow card = soft stop. Not comfortable, please hurry the scene along or tone things down. Questions for Character Backstory (answer as many as you want): Where Do They Live? Why This Class? Why This Subclass & Background? What is Important about my Ancestry or Race? Where is Your Family? Who raised You? What Motivated You to Adventure? What is Your Inciting Incident? Expand on Personality Traits What is Your Immediate Quest? Who is Important to You? 1 from the past 1 in the present 1 from the future Party Connections What are Your Long Term Goals?
Hi, I'm Olytash. I posted this on another lfg as well so here's a bit about me and what I'm looking for in a game: I'm a very new player: I've only been playing ttrpgs for about a year, but I'm hooked! I enjoy the character making process and using the system to tell stories about how the characters are changing. I don't have any experience with 5e, but I'm familiar with the jargon and general flow of the game. I'm very familiar with discord for chat and voice and I've used Roll20 a bit. Some other ttrpg experience I have: I've  been playing Pathfinder 1e for almost a year and I've gm'd a handful of Blades in the Dark sessions. The current campaign I'm playing of Pathfinder is coming to an end soon and it's caused me to reflect on what I enjoyed and what could be improved. I enjoyed playing with Pathfinder but the group I'm playing with is not very into roleplay or individual story arcs.  Even if things were perfect I don't think this is the ideal group for me (that's fine, we all play the game differently). I realized I'm looking for something that is in the introduction to a podcast I listen to: Friends and the Table. The GM says it's a podcast that focuses on critical world building, smart characterization, and fun interaction between good friends. I hope I'll make good friends with whomever I game with, but the first two - critical world building and smart characterization - are the things I really want from a TTRP.  I used to write short stories and do improv with friends and that has been missing as a creative outlet for me for a while due to work and school and general busy life. So, I'm looking for a community that is supportive of storytelling and world building in a way that's fun, can be challenging, and is encouraging for everyone to participate.  Currently I'm available every other Thursday starting next Thursday (I have no reason to think this will change), but I'm also available every other weekend. PM me if you want to talk more. Also, I'm in the Seattle area so same time zone is convenient!
Hi. I’ve been playing 5e for only about 2 years, but most of that was 2 groups and I’ve played most other versions of D&D and Pathfinder 1e. I’m not at all familiar with the campaign setting, so would probably need some help in some aspects of character background creation as it appears you’d like it to tie into the setting to at least some degree. I’m very interested, though have a couple of questions. Most notably, which Thursdays? I get every other Friday off and your timeslot is perfect for me if it's my "short week" Thursday. However, I wouldn’t be able to play if it was the "long week" Thursday. I’d love to talk more about it and answer any questions you may have for me. Please feel free to DM me.
Hi JoeCold. 12/8/2022 would be a Thursday where we would be playing. I don't know if that answers your question, but I feel we should address that first before anything else.
Hi Olytash, For timing, 12/8/2022 would be Thursdays when we are free. I think your every other Thursday would match the schedule of the planned campaign. So, I'm looking for a community that is supportive of storytelling and world building in a way that's fun, can be challenging, and is encouraging for everyone to participate. As far as the style of the campaign, it'll be a collaborative experience. The main thing that's important is communication and making sure everyone is on the same page, that we're having fun, and that we're putting in some effort to enjoy the world. Your experience isn't going to be an issue, but I'd be happy to touch base if you're interested and we can see if this might be a good fit.
I really like the campaign direction you’re wanting to go and have no doubts about my Thursday availability. I’ve been the family and friend DM for several years and while I’ll maintain those duties, I’ve been looking for an adult game for myself to enjoy. I have a character I used previously in a game that fell apart I’d like to use (burglar) but would need to discuss it with you to make sure it aligns with your vision of the campaign. Very rich backstory and quite complex/fun.  The combat style I use has been utility and trickery being one draped in leather and reliant on more armed and armored characters to hold attention. Role play, puzzles, and non combat to me are just as important as the grinding and battles. At my own tables I employ a mix of both to appeal to all aspects of the game.  In short, I’m looking for a table where I can just be a player and let someone else decide the rules/direction. That’s the beauty of this game is that there are a myriad ways to enjoy it!
I'm very interested my discord is GibKJ#8164

Hello, I'm Moonboi, been playing D&D for about 7 years, and I'm really interested in the Wildemount setting, Thursdays work great for me and doing complex backstory characters sounds like a ton of fun I'm looking forward to join a party that is down for storytelling, just generally be a friend group and making some cool character interactions As stated, Thursdays work for me as well as time zones, so, I hope you'll take me into account My discord handle is MoonBoi#3787
Submissions and requests to join will be placed on hold, as I manage capacity. Regardless, thanks for the interest in the campaign.
Hey there, if you do want another player, I would love to join as I am a storyteller and love telling stories and learning more about it!  I'll leave my discord here: Hades#4426
