Roll 20 on tablet

I play an in-person Pathfinder game at a friend's house who has a projector on the ceiling to make maps on the gaming table, and that's all he was using it (and roll20 off a laptop) for - making maps (and more recently, initiative tracker). I'll be GMing the next campaign, and I want to use roll20 for a fuller breadth of its functions. I'm going to be setting up the sessions on PC, using the projector laptop to run a single player-version of the session (hiding unexplored rooms, etc), and then bringing a separate device to run the GM session, so I wouldn't be running a game where the players are directly playing off the roll20 session. How well does Roll 20 run off of a tablet/touch screen? I would just be running it through the browser on the tablet. When I search for this question, I get 1) threads from more than 5 years ago and 2) people talking about it in a way that looks more like they're talking about how good it is on a tablet in all aspects of roll20 (running + setting up + playing the game). Would a tablet be fine, or would I be better off using a laptop for game sessions?

From my understanding tablets are hit and miss on whether they work for users. Some users can do it fine, others not so much.  For those that are in the middle an extension called Touch20 is supposed to add functionality but Touch20 is not a Roll20 product, it is 3rd party so use it at your own risk.
