We are excited to announce that qualifying Dungeon Masters Guild products can officially be purchased and unlocked on the Roll20 virtual tabletop, beginning today! We’ve converted some of the most beloved DMsGuild content into instantly playable adventures designed to save you time and make your games more immersive.

Some of our favorite creators have built out maps featuring Dynamic Lighting, Doors, and Windows, added GM layer information to coordinate plot hooks and surprises, and configured one-click Macros and Rollable Tables to bring your games to the next level.

When purchasing compatible titles on DMsGuild, follow the prompts to provide your Roll20 account email during checkout. This will unlock the corresponding Module, Art Pack, Token Marker Set, content Package, or Addon on Roll20, making it available via your “My Marketplace Items” page and allowing immediate online play without the additional set-up work.

View the Roll20 VTT collection on DMsGuild, and keep your eyes peeled as the catalog continues to expand. If you’re excited about a specific DMsGuild title coming to Roll20, contact the creator and let them know!

Are you a DMsGuild creator looking to publish Roll20 conversions of your titles? Check out this guide to get started.

If you’re not yet publishing, but are feeling inspired to join over 25,000 publishers and creators in the Roll20 network, follow this guide to get started on DMsGuild!

EDIT: Claim the free adventure "A Night of Masks and Monsters" to check out the conversion!

For expectation management: can you provide an indication of how much time a user should expect between ordering on DMSGuild and the asset being available on Roll20?
Ordered the freebee https://www.dmsguild.com/product/425913/A-Night-of-Masks-and-Monsters--Roll20-VTT 4 hours ago and it is not available yet. I might be too soon, or stuck in the new feature rush.

It should be instant - do you mind making sure that you're using your Roll20 email address when you order it?

Found it! DMS Guild page describes it as a module and art pack. Whereis it is in fact a game addon and a compendium.

February 16 (1 year ago)

Just to verify -- Will we be able to access content we have already bought on GMs Guild in our Roll20 games? Or only the content marked as Roll20 moving forward?

Confirming there seems to be a delay of about 15 ish minutes before stuff starts showing up.  I had bought the expanded monster manual and the free night maks thinger and wasn't seeing the expanded mm show up.  was just coming here to ask if anyone did, then figured i'd look again for funsies and sure enough it's now showing up.  just an fyi in case anyone is not seeing their stuffs show up.

Hmm. The test I ran using my dummy account and a free item showed up instantly.

Does DMGuild content that includes new subclasses come with Charactermancer support? Specifically, I am wondering about this https://www.dmsguild.com/product/426278/Drizzts-Travelogue-of-Everything-Volume-1--Roll20-VTT?filters=0_0_0_0_0_0_1000063_0

I experienced the same thing. Also the informatio regarding it being a module or add-on doesn't always seem to be correct. But it eventually it worked out great.

I bought "Exploring Eberron" and the Character Mancer support is there for everything shown in the compendium.

This one can be found under add-ons. I stumbled over the same issue.

It occurred to me that I am tracking the time it took to show up in my Marketplace items. I did not test for in-game accessibility.

February 18 (1 year ago)

My test purchase was a Spelljammer bestiary; it does show up in my Marketplace, and I successfully added it to a game as an add on with no hiccups. Within the game, I couldn't find hide nor hair of it; until I checked at the bottom of the game journal, and found the divided up PDF and tokenized artwork for the beasts, unstatted. Not having Compendium access is disappointing, if not understandable for the work involved. A good initial effort, but the measure of value (for me) is what I'm getingt when paying for the VTT supplement, vs what i can do with the original PDF on my own. I've been drooling over the Expanded Monster Manual, but if i still have to stat up the tokens manually, it just wont be worth it.

Still- thank you for doing this; its far better to have this than not.

Expanded Monster Manual is definitely fully compendium built out with tokens.

Spelljammer: Creatures of the Cosmos was my test book, I was very fond of it as a PDF product, and hoped to ease using the monsters in my VTT game.

It's very good to hear that the Expanded MM got a useful VTT treatment. I assume that the VTT prep work is done by the creators, and I know Dragonix puts a lot of work into their books as it is.

I would recommend strongly that DMsGuild should clarify exactly what you get in a VTT package (Compendium vs Add On vs Other) and also how the content will be accessed and used within Roll20.

February 18 (1 year ago)

I should note that after poking at SJ: Creatures of the Cosmos some more, I found that it's tokens do have clickable stat blocks attached- they didn't have their menu bubbles configured though, so when i dragged them onto a map, i thought they were just art.  These creatures aren't in the Compendium, so they can only be found via a Journal search, which I've always found a bit dodgy.

So, even better than I initially thought, but definitely a work in progress. In any case, keep up the good work.

I looked at that one, it didn't state it has Compendium entries. Not all "creature" products do. This isn't the first product I've seen that uses journal entries instead of Compendium entries.

Someday that may change when the Compendium becomes easier to work with, but right now it requires someone with coding experience to build in Compendium entries.

So if I submit a free piece of work to the DMGUILD can I then upload it in Roll20?

PJ W, could you post your question in the Specific Use Questions & Macros forum? More folks will be able to see it there and help!

February 24 (1 year ago)

Bit of side not, but related: are there plans to update the My Marketplace Items tab to help us manage our increasingly large collections? Folders would be nice, but tags would be boss...

Can you gift a dmsguild conversion purchase to another roll20 user?

My guess is that it is just like any other digital purchase at DMs Guild. Here is their article on purchasing gifts for another person.

Edit: As long as you have their DMs Guild or Roll20 email address you can gift them things.

If using DMs Guild email address use the article linked above.
If using the Roll20 email address purchase it like you would normally, but use their Roll20 email address when it asks for your Roll20 email address.

My guess is that the above step is just a stepping stone in the integration process. It will take time to integrate both platforms.

great

Pray, when will the next batch of Roll20 compatible documents drop? Or on what schedule will they be released in the future?

They are added continuously by the community! You can browse the full list on DMsGuild.

Ah, for a good while after the initial release, nothing new was  showing up when i checked, but now I see 0ver 900 entires. thank you

200, more like- used bad search criteria initially.  So it is growing, but slowly; every little bit, je?

Nice.

March 26 (1 year ago)

I'm confused.

I tried to get the example free asset in the OP and at checkout it wants me to create a new DMGuild account or log in via facebook. Am I not supposed to use my email address and password I use to log into Roll20?

Do I need to create a DMs Guild account? There is no mention I need to do that. In fact, the instructions are to use my Roll20 email account.

DM’s guild requires an account like any other website handles commercial business.  You can set it up as you wish. No credit card is required for free purchases.

March 26 (1 year ago)

Edited March 26 (1 year ago)

So why would DMsGuild require credit card when purchases are through Roll20?

EDIT: OK, I figured it out. Purchases are NOT through Roll20.

achievement

After looking at all of these DMGuild Ideas and using some for my own homebrew campaign.  I have to say this was a great add to Roll20.

I have Rise of the Drow on DMGuild (bought into the Kickstarter)- will i have access to the Roll20 conversion of this or do i need to repurchase if i wish to run (or painfully transpose everything across)

It is likely you will have to repurchase. The publisher may provide a bundle that allows you to get the Roll20 version at a discount.
