[LFP] [5e] D&D Party looking for 1 player to join us on Friday Nights.

Hello, my name is Jeremy and I am the GM for our group that is looking for 1 more player to join us on Friday evenings between 7pm to 10pm CST. We are currently running Tomb of Annihilation which we are about one third to half of the way through. And we are just starting Descent into Avernus alongside it .  We also use discord for voice chat during the games. We are a very roleplay character focused group whose primary goal is to build a story together and get the most out of it. We welcome new players, even if you haven't played before and are looking to learn. We are also looking for players that aren't going to take things too seriously but at the same time have enough respect for the story, the other players, and myself to let the game have those serious moments when they do come. We of course would show you that same courtesy. If you are the type of person that is always looking for the most optimal builds to gain a sense of enjoyment out of that aspect of the game, while I don't think there is anything wrong with finding enjoyment in that this probably wouldn't be the group for you. If you like to create flavorful backstories and lore that I as the GM can weave into the story then we might be the group you are looking for.  I do ask that if you apply you are at least 18 years or older. We don't have problems with things like violence and language. Any sexually explicit stuff really hasn't come up with our group in any of the games we have played so far. If you are looking for a game to delve into sexual acts and roleplay, our group wouldn't be for you. To apply just reply below and include why after reading the above you think you would be a good fit, also what experiences you have with d&d, whether it be playing, watching, or none at all. At this time don't provide any details regarding a character you are looking to play.
Your group sounds perfect for me, I am only 16 but I am mature for my age. I am quite new to dnd and haven't done a full campaign. I love roleplay-focused stories and I love to create intricate backgrounds and lore. I realize that stories need humor and serious moments and I can attest to that. I know it is unlikely but I would love to join your group :)
Thanks for being upfront about your age, we are looking for someone a bit older as the post stated.
The day works great for me, as does the time, so  I'm definitely interested in playing. I'm an EST player with a moderate amount of experience, mostly with in-person games. I've not played through Tomb of Annihilation or Descent into Avernus, but I am pretty familiar with the 5e ruleset as a whole. I'm not really picky when it comes to a campaign's playstyle. I enjoy RP-heavy campaigns, and I also like dungeon crawling chaos. I play D&D to have a good time, and I think maintaining a healthy balance between serious & immersive storytelling and just shooting the shit and having a good time both in and out of character is important. Making friends with everyone is arguably the best part about sitting at the game table. So if you're still looking for a player by the time you catch this message, feel free to throw me a message. Because your group s ounds like a great time to me.
I've been looking for a Friday game, so I'd like to throw my hat into the ring. I've played 5e for many years, and have even DMed a published campaign for my Tuesday group, so I do know how to flesh out and play characters from brief descriptions. I enjoy playing the game more, however, with a decent combination of RP vs combat. I'm going to say 75/25 as a guess, but I like the challenge of finding non-combat ways to avoid hostile encounters. I tend to create characters that are not always the optimal combination of race and class, as I think those are more interesting characters to play. I also am open to discuss any changes the DM might want to make to my characters if they have an interesting story hook to their game that my character can benefit RP-wise from. As an aside, I am over 18, but am not interested in RPing anything above flirtations and playful romantic moments. I believe in establishing a good level of trust between players is warranted, so I probably won't even go THAT far with a new group. And I try to avoid playing grimdark characters unless the game suits that kind of character. If you find any of this interesting for the game that you're running, give me a holler. Thanks!
