Hello all! I am preparing to GM a game of d20 Modern on Saturday afternoons or evenings, bi-weekly, with session zero being no earlier than August 26th. The game will follow the player characters as agents of Department 7, which studies and investigates paranormal incidents, in an otherwise contemporary Earth-based setting. The game and setting will be inspired by books like The Atrocity Archives , and Declare , shows like Fringe , The X-Files , and Inside Job , and sprinkle a little bit of the video game series Metal Gear into the mix. The idea is that the PCs will have to wrangle with elements of exaggerated comical workplace and political satire (micromanaging supervisors, incompetent bureaucrats, interminable meetings) in addition to typical adventure stuff (fighting monsters, solving mysteries, devious intrigue). For the uninitiated, d20 Modern was a spin-off of D&D 3.x and the bones of the system are nearly identical, with a number of tweaks to match the "game-feel" to a different milieu (contemporary action-adventure instead of medieval Europe-inspired sword-and-sorcery.) An HTML version of the d20 Modern SRD can be found here . If this piques your interest, feel free to message me directly or post below with questions or comments.
