Share Purchased Content with other Platforms

I would like the option to share or transfer the content  I have purchased on Roll20 over the year to other platforms, like WotC products to D&D Beyond. After every "updates", Roll20 becomes less and less useable. The products (Modules / Addons / Arts / Token / Etc) purchased I don't even have access to use in my own games the way I want / need to. If I buy a physical book, I can bring it over to the library, to a local game store, or even to a friend's house. I do not need to buy a different copy of the exact same book to use at different location. I believe that the same should be true with digital content. I believe this should be a priority to open discussions with other platforms to enable "Cross-Play".

That's often up to the designer/creator of the content, and the license they have with Roll20. For instance marketplace creators have the option of making their content available for download or not.

Beyond licensing requirements, people want purchases such as Modules, Compendiums and Addons to be automated for use with games on the VTT. This requires specific coding for each platform: A compendium or module designed to work with Roll20 is going to need to be constructed differently than one designed to work with another site or VTT, and vice versa. In order for these resources to be usable across multiple platforms, the coding of the sites themselves would need to be standardised, and that's just not going to happen. Hardcover books or pdf documents are site-agnostic, but don't lend themselves to automation. I have a small library of game-related literature that I still use as reference material, but there is no way for me to automate retrieval of any of that information to my games; for that, I had to buy Roll20 compatible copies of them. If I should ever want to try a different VTT, I'd have to do that again (and that's not going to happen either).
