[LFG]New Player looking to play any kind of game. eager to learn and willing to read content -- Part 2: Where Games Go To Die Edition.

Once again I am here looking for a game. Four months ago I came looking for a game. I received DMs of interested GMs. The one I picked up ended up fizzling into nothing because Scheduling issues made the game literally not happen 5+ weeks in a row leading to me having had enough of all that and leaving. There was not a session where someone wasn't absent, making the party lack a different key element every session that the GM was counting on being present. I've been seeking for a game for 10 years now over three different accounts, all of which I closed myself because I felt there was a stigma growing against the accounts I was using because the time the account was made, the single digit time spent playing and the amount of posts made in forums desperately trying to get a game. I've been looking for a game since 2014. we are soon entering 2024. the last time I can say I had a real game was 19 years ago when i was playing the campaign my neighbour was hosting one when i was 12 years old in the time of D&D 3.5 and now yet another edition of D&D is coming out rather sooner than later. I have been left out of D&D for 2 entire editions now and I can't even exactly say I really partook of 3.5e due to how young I was at the time. With all of this in perspective: Am I even allowed to even dare think of asking to play a game of D&D?
I have a regular DnD thing going for awhile now. But the party is pretty well packed. I am wanting to start a Call of Cthulhu campaign in a few weeks set in the old west if that appeals to you. I have yet to get anything but DnD going on Roll20, so I cannot make promises as to longevity. But if I get enough interest by late January, I would set things up where a missing player here and there is no big deal. Hoping for weekend evenings (with flexibility) PST.

i currently run my own ttrpg, We still consider it beta testing bc not every class has been fully tested, but we play regularly biweekly, we don't have another session till January because the holidays tho. we could use exactly one more player tho if u decide that the system u play isn't all to important. standard fantasy setting with elements of technology. were 2 sessions in right now.

Hi. There's some interesting choices of wording there. I'd like to focus on one thing, and if you're cool with it, I might (might; it's complicated) have a game for you. Jeff B. said: Scheduling issues made the game literally not happen 5+ weeks in a row leading to me having had enough of all that and leaving. There was not a session where someone wasn't absent, making the party lack a different key element every session that the GM was counting on being present. This is gonna happen, especially with groups scattered across time zone. I will happen with me. In fact, most of my games are on hold for the holidays. That's an easy one, because you can plan for it. But it'll happen. Patience will be important. Now, here's the might maybe might part of the message. I have a game. I have run games online since 1998, with steady groups. The game I have now is not a beginner game; with some changes, we've been running for five years. We have room for one more right now. I'll go into more detail if you're interested. Some things to know: I run text games. No voice or video. (I know this is the one where most people stop reading, but that's how I do.) Weekly, Saturdays, 11AM to 3PM Pacific (currently standard) Time. Published setting, but my own adventures. It's Tal'Dorei if that means anything. Setting Knowledge is not a dealbreaker, but a willingness to looks stuff up IS. Characters are not allowed to be amnesiacs or "not from around here." If I Bold Italic something for emphasis, either know about it or look it up. Players can decide how much their characters know about something. But they don't get to go "what's that?" A mix of "Jobs" (stuff you gotta do together), and "Downtime" (Character Development, personal goals, etc.) During the Jobs, we'll need everyone most of the time and the game is subject to postponments. During Downtime, 1-on-1 is possible. I am happy to help people, but my free time is limited. Responses are guaranteed, but response time is not. This game IS on hold for the holidays. Next session will be January 6. DM me if you might be interested.
i have chaotic homebrew heavy campaign which for now is called Parry THIS! it will hopefully be chaotic fun with overpowered weapons spells and enemies!  hoping to get at least 4-6 players and i have a listing, if you want you can talk to me about what homebrew races i have and what basic races might not be in the game, this game will be chaotic but there will be rules already set to make sure i remain in control without spoiling the chaotic fun! Also if you want to join you will need discord so we can use voice and maybe soundboards.
One possible way to get a game going for sure is to make one yourself. Not always the easiest to get "Real" players, but when you do it's a great experience. Running a game is not nearly as difficult or demanding as it would seem from the outside.
Hi Jeff. What's your time zone, times you can play, games you're interested in playing, etc? On the off-chance you can play European time zone I have a 2nd edition OSR D&D game on the go. We play every week (very rare to skip a week, though it happens), Wednesdays 8pm to 10pm (I believe that's 5pm to 7pm EST but you'd need to check for your specific time zone if you're in North America or Australia or something). Classic dungeon crawls and sandbox wilderness campaign play is currently the order of the day.
