You have heard the numerous whispered rumors that something
is odd in the village of Orlane. Visitors and travelers have gone missing, the
townsfolk have been acting strangely, merchants riding through the village
report of empty farmhouses and overgrown fields. Trade from this once peaceful
village has almost entirely ceased.
Can you and your companions discover the secret behind the
bizarre behavior of the residents?
What has become of the missing people?
Can you restore peace in this formerly tranquil village?
During this campaign you will:

Have a chance to interact with over 50 villagers
and visitors in Orlane.
·
Gather clues and piece together what is
happening in the village.
·
Navigate through the factions within the
community to determine who can be trusted, and who not to trust.
·
Deal with invading tribes looking for
lands of their own.
·
Find the sources of Orlane's problems and
resolve them to liberate the peoples.
·
Uncover additional plots which threaten the
world of Exandria.
·
Explore the World of Critical Role to thwart
plots which could cause a new cataclysm.
Behind the scenes, the Betrayer Gods plot their return to
the world, cultists seek to bring back darker powers lost for millennia, and
power factions aim to overthrow the ruling classes.
During this initial adventure, the party will encounter
additional plots and activities which relate to the character’s back stories
and goals. This will lead to opportunities for the party to travel to far off
places in Exandria in their quests to prevent another cataclysm from destroying
the world they know.
Heavy in RP potential, this campaign starts with
investigating the rumors behind strange occurrences which have been reported in
Orlane. The party will be able to
interact with over 60 NPCs in the village to discover clues which may lead to
the truth behind the disappearances, vacant farms, and suspicious behavior of
the residents. They can explore the surrounding area to follow up on the clues
and to uncover more leads on where the cult is located.
How the characters interact with the residents impacts the
unfolding of the story as the party tries to figure out who to believe and who
can be trusted.
Session 0 is scheduled for Friday, January 12 th
at 8 PM EST.
