Maps should load zoomed in at 100% with the last Focus Ping

Title clarification: focus maps automatically when loading for all players, GMs included. Or, perhaps Roll20 could 'remember' our last coordinates from when we left the map, so we would auto-load to the same location. Whenever we switch maps during a session, and we do this often, the maps load at the upper left corner. This is never the location we want to be at. Especially on the huge main continent map, where - ironically - explored hexes are at the bottom right, so we always have to go scrolling, scrolling, scrolling, until we get there. Rinse and repeat each time we go back to this map for some overland travel. This suggestion has been around for 9 years. Perhaps go and uplvote that one. Though I was hoping from some response from the devs - is this in the pipeline, is it doable?

This won't help the GM, but if you Shift+Left click on a point on the map (or right-click on that spot and select "focus ping"), it will center the map for all players who have tokens on that map around that point.

My whole point is that I don't want to do that every time I load the map on my very slow laptop. And ever since they disabled the option to scroll across the map with a middle-mouse-compass (the option where you don't have to drag-and-drop, drag-and-drop, drag-and-drop), this has become a pet peeve of mine.

Out of curiosity is mouse scroll to pan not working for you?  Pressing the middle button does the same thing pressing the right button does - it pans by dragging the map if you move your mouse, stops when you stop moving the mouse or your mouse pointer gets to the edge of the screen. Used to be (up to about a year ago) that if you pressed the middle button, it would open up a "scrolling compass" icon, the kind you get when you are in a browser (though these usually are up-and-down only if your page cannot scroll left-and-right), and it would let you slide in whatever direction without stopping or having to drag your mouse around, clicking and draggin five, ten times until you get where you want to be (on a big map if you are zoomed in). They explained that this feature was lost with rendering engine upgrades, but they do not seem interested in restoring it.

(Your answer deals with middle mouse button clicking, not mousewheel scroll. I am sorry if I was not clearer.) To clarify, you mentioned that the current right mouse button option is a problem for you. I want to make sure you have access to the mousewheel scroll option which is less of an issue.

And Domigorgon, you are in luck, at least part of your request will become a reality when Jumpgate goes live: Release note regarding Jumpgate : "We now remember the zoom and page location you were on when you switch pages in the same session. So when you switch back, you should be at the same spot you and zoom level you were at before!" My suggestion is you head to the Jumpgate thread and ask the Devs to also add that for remembering between sessions/refresh etc.  It may not be doable due but it wouldn't hurt to ask.

Mousewheel pans side to side too, hold shift key while using the mousewheel. I use it all the time.
