cannot see other players avatars

in our current game, the players cannot see each others chat avatars. we can see chat messages, token movements, etc, just not the avatars

Hi Dalton,  Have you turned them on?  Please go to My Settings, Text Chat Options, and checkmark "Enable chat avatars" If that is already enabled please provide a screenshot of your game so I can see if something else might be happening.

We can't see each other in my game session either... Integrated chat is also not working.

Alright, to clarify here... When you say chat avatars you are referencing the pictures in the Chat Tab?  Or do you mean profile images/avatars in the bottom left corner of the game?  A screenshot would help clarify what is being discussed. 

My group experienced this as well. Myself (GM) and 3 players were logged in. On the game page, I could see that the other players were in the game, but when I entered, only myself appeared as a player logged in. in the chat field, I could type and communicate with the 3 players, but no voice. They were all able to see each other being logged in, and voice and chat. I left the game and returned without change. I quit Chrome and logged back in, could see and communicate fully. A 4th player joined without seeing, and had to restart browser to join. at one point I left the game and returned, unable to see exveryone, quit browser and started again, and could see. Finished our night with a merry search of the Azer vault and fought off the interloping White Abishai searching for the Scepter of War. Moral: When in doubt, restart. Bad was, I sat around waiting or the players for 10 minutes thinking they were not going to show and they thought the same. We would have never connected if I hadn't typed a chat message to leave for them.

oh, and the missing pictures are the pictures which default to the lower left and are used to turn on voice, reconnect with other players, and voice whisper or mute.

Thanks Heath,  Everyone who is affected, is this only in Chrome? Or is this also affecting Firefox users? Is this in Jumpgate or regular Roll20?

sorry for the delay. it is in chrome, which is the only browser i have installed other than edge. this is the botom left avaars, which are turned on. /edit--  also, regular roll20

Which Voice and Video option are you using? Have you tried switching the option then switching back?

None of us use the voice or video. really we only use the avatars to know who is connected, so it wasn't a major issue. i have not tried that, but i will try that the next time i log into the game with others.

If you are not using voice or video then make sure that the GM has set the option to None.  Not the player option, but the GM option. 

I just posted this same issue. I am using chrome and I have experienced this exact issue this past week.  It's a big issue with our game as cards are involved. Also ppl not even logged in are popping into the game as well (related second issue)

Hi John,  Same questions as the other thread:  Which Voice/Video option is your group using? If you don't know please have your GM provide a screenshot of the Voice/Video options. Note: many groups don't use Voice or Video, but the option is still turned on because it was never turn off. It is on the moment the game is created. So not using it doesn't mean it is not on and affecting things.  Are you in a regular or Jumpgate game?

Hi Folks,  The Devs have restarted the Integrated V/V server. Please perform a hard refresh (Ctrl+R or Ctrl+F5 usually) and check to see if you are still having an issue (when you can grab one or more of your players to test). Please post if this has resolved things or if there is still a problem. 

28 Jun 2024/Pro subscriber: Me and my six players have been trying for the last three hours to get passed this issue, but the player avatars continue to randomly disappear.  This last hour, all were gone and nobody could hear one another.  Game play was not affected, with players able to move their tokens, roll macros, type in the chat.  There was no voice, however.  We tried Chrome and played with multiple settings, including legacy audio, which revealed each other's avatars but still no voice chat.  Edge worked well for about 20 minutes, then the avatars disappeared again along with the voice chat. Pretty disappointing Friday night session.

Same issue here, but we pivoted to Discord after about 10-15 minutes. As Mr. DM, only the player area and V&V interface was affected. Some avatars would not appear, some voice-video connections could not be made.

Hello, I have the same problem and had to cancel my game yesterday.  Tried it again this morning with one of my player and the problem still continues.  The player boxes do not she up in the bottom left and we cannot speak to each other.  I know they are on though because we can chat with each other (as though they were observing).  I have no means to see if they online or not.  Edit: I have tried logging on two different computers and two different browsers (Edge and Chrome).

Same problem here. Still not fixed Sat afternoon, bad timing.

No problem with tokens or avatars, but character sheets are loading incredibly slowly, even if they'd already been accessed once (lazy-loading?). Everything is running dead slow. I was just in the game tweaking some things, but if we were playing today I'd have to cancel.

My groups are still having the same issues.  Using Integrated Voice & Video.

Same issues as everybody. Using Chrome Version 126.0.6478.127 (Official Build) (64-bit)

same issues as before.  group is using chrome and firefox.

Same issues as everyone else.  Using Opera GX, not using Integrated Voice and Video.

Just letting everyone know the Devs are also posting in this thread .
