Monster Token Seen in darkness. Dynamic lighting.

Hey, trying out dynamic lighting, and got most of it worked out, but for some reason, when i preview as players, as well as my players telling me, the monster token art is visible no idea why. i am using jumpgate.
My first thought is to check what is listed in the "Can be Edited & Controlled By" section of the monsters' character sheets. For any character sheet that is NOT controlled by a player, this field should be empty.

Hi Favillion,  You probably have assigned yourself control over those NPCs, that is why you see them. In the future I suggest using a Dummy Account for testing rather than "Rejoin as Player". It gives a more accurate viewpoint of what the players see and you can make real time changes rather than switching back and forth between player and GM modes. To do that use a second browser (or Incognito/Private mode) for the dummy account, take a look at things, then switch to your GM browser and make corrections.

There is one case in which it is advantageous to specifically list the GM in the list of controllers for an NPC. When using Dynamic Lighting and Explorer Mode, NPC tokens can sometimes appear translucent as they near the edge of darkness. This is due to the way that Explorer Mode overlays work, and would require a complete reqork of the feature to eliminate. If the GM does not want to potentially lose sight of NPCs under these circumstances, granting them specific control can eliminate this transparency. For most other cases, leave that field blank.
I think there's more to it than just the "rejoin as player" problem. The OP mentioned that his players are reporting that they can see the NPCs as well.

It could still be a permissions problem if the permissions are "All Players". More investigation and info needed.

Favillion, could you PM me an invite to your game? I'd like to take a look and see what might be going on.
