Hello! My name is Loren. A fun fact about me: My name is Sal online as I have been called this by my friends as I have a striking resemblance to the Impractical Joker (Its still funny to this day). I have had more than 10 years of experience of DMing. I am mainly a in person and a Foundry based DM. It may look like I am a new player but I assure you I will explain why I moved to roll20. I have ran 3.5e, 4e (never again), 5e 2014. This campaign will be based in 5e 2014 due to my lack of knowledge of the new 5e. My schedule is completely open for both Sun and Sat so we will go off of party member availability for an official time. I am looking to do a 4 hour session once per week but am open for less or more. VC will be on Discord and we will be using Roll20 for playing. I am a Veteran DM who is looking for a new group of players to start a campaign that I have been working on for quite some time now. The Campaign is titled 'Mercury, to Cure a Parasite' (More on that down below). I have originally set this up on Foundry, but after an issue caused my three months of progress creating this campaign to immediately all be erased in seconds, I am taking my business to Roll20! I am looking for a brand new party as every so often I like to get fresh new blood to mix things up in the story. This story is a Homebrew world and will be a milestone based campaign. My campaigns are VERY story driven, there will be times when there is RP, times where there is Combat, and plenty of time for your characters to grow in my world. I intently keep track of every player as they build their characters and I try to implement them into my story to really give them the feel that their backstory is real and not just notes that will never be used again. If you want to keep it simple or wish to give me a 10 page script on your backstory, I love to read! And I will work with you to get the most out of your characters throughout the campaign. I tend to lean towards giving each player their time to "shine" in my story. I will explain more once I welcome you into the campaign. The theme for this campaign will be that of Social Horror. This world will have its downs. Your characters morals will be tested possibly like they never have before. There will be strong dark themes that is not for the weak of heart. If its too much for you I will do my best to tone it down. Just know that is where the campaign is heading. The story will start the campaign at level 1 and will most likely end at level 16 unless there is still more to tell in the story. I usually have a guarantee that level 1 is "death proof" (within reason) and I will not let the party stay there for long. I have had countless experiences with party members getting one shot *Ahem* W I Z A R D S *Ahem* at level 1 and I would like to see the squishy guys at least make it through the first session. As for the intro to the story: The world you live in is known as Fordsgear. The world is a more fey empowered land compared to most settings. Pixies, Elfs, Gnomes, and Firbolgs mainly populate the land but there is still an abundances of plenty of other races. Almost everyone has a form of magic attuned to them and those that aren't are viewed as lesser beings. The town you live at is rather large and known as North Nettlegale. The town is ran as a monarchy with the Queen, an Elf named Amber ruling with a fair but firm leadership. The Queen has called out for someone, anyone to save her daughter Mercury. She has fallen ill. The Doctors know little of the disease and fear that if she does not get help soon, she will pass. Whether you are an aspiring hero, a money hungry merc, a hopeless romantic, or maybe something a bit more... nefarious. You have come together to try to take on the task of finding a cure. Your story begins with your leader of the group, a Gnome named Jastor, said that he has found a lead. That is all I will put for now as I will give you a more detailed intro if you decide to join. As for the paid part of the campaign. I am asking for $20 per player for the entire campaign (Paying per session does not sit well with me) just to jumpstart the session by purchasing the official books and the monthly subscription. I will be using 100% of the funds to directly fuel this campaign so that I can run it more efficiently. I am not looking to make a profit and will be paying some out of my own pocket to run this as well. We will be doing payment over Paypal and I will not take payment until after session 0 and 1 are completed. I understand that some people are unable to afford this so for those that cannot make that type of investment, I will make an exception to those that wow me with the idea of their characters. Give me a rough breakdown of what you want to do (Name, Backstory, Race, Class ect) and if I feel that you have thought your character through... ill let you in for free. Please be honest if you can't afford $20, I am a reasonable guy who has a job and a Wife. I get it. Side note: I do allow slight homebrew ideas for players... if you pitch it to me and its interesting and fair... odds are I will allow it. Please refrain from DMing me as I want to have all of the "applications" to be in one easy place to find. Once roughly a week goes by, I will be going through those that have shown interest (I do this because I want you to put in time writing rather then rushing to be "first") IF YOU APPLY FOR A GROUP, please do so in one post.
