Allow a hotkey/modifier key to be assigned to a toolbar button

I often find that I use the ruler tool to indicate a direction for a player. But, then I find that I can't select a token, and realize that I have to re-choose the select tool. It would be nice if: A) Each tool had a hotkey (like alt-s for the select tool and alt-r for the ruler tool) B) One tool could be assigned a modifier key (for example, so that I could draw a ruler arrow while holding the control key, but then go back to my previously selected tool once I release control)

A) You mean like these: https://wiki.roll20.net/Keyboard_Shortcuts =D B) That could be cool, but there are a finite number of modifier keys... I've always thought it would be great if you could swap between the current tool and the select tool by hitting space. Aldus (Adobe) Page Maker (InDesign) had this feature at some point and it was fantastic.
Augh! Didn't know about those hotkeys. Thanks B) The limited number of modifier keys is why I suggested being able to assign it yourself. That way you only toggle the one that you most use.
