Interest Check for Marvel Multiverse rpg - but more than just Marvel

Greetings programs. I'm not sure there is much interest in this system and genre on R20, but thought I would include a search here as well as other places. Just brass tacks. Here is the story so far: Since I was a kid long ago, I ran long and successful comic book-based rpgs with the longtime fave being Champions. Growing up a comics kid I loved not just Marvel and DC, but great 90's alternatives as well. My setting was a kitchen sink that included not just supers but so many other pop culture genres. A true multiverse.  Anyway I have longed for a system easy to use on Roll20 (mulled over things like Mutants and Masterminds and other modern ones). Now finally there is an easy but robust system in Marvel Multiverse, and more importantly a great interface between Demiplane and Roll20. Now that I have found my way to live the dream (dramatic music for effect) I am putting a campaign together. MM rpg is a heavy Marvel vibe in the compendium (the spider man universe obsession is ridiculous in them), and yeah my setting is a nihilistic future of the Marvel Universe where few if none of the original characters are around. But it will be much more than a Marvel fest.  If you have any interest please take a look at my profile where I have added some info on this long-time mish mash setting I have used since I was pretty much a kid. This would not just be some Avengers or Justice League Capes and boots thing with nothing but punch-ups on city streets (but I have run those major supers group kind of campaigns and that could be in the future after this little experiment). Fun and interesting characters from various pop genres with a heavy mix of character interaction and role play outside of the violence would be, as always, a big part of the campaign. The system is easy and you could go watch a 10 minute youtube video on character creation and be in the Demiplane character creator expressing your creativity in no time. I will have it all set up. So message me if you have any interest. I would love to be doing a session zero in a couple weeks or so.  I am Pacific time and am eyeing a Thursday or Friday night to have three-hour sessions. Thanks for reading and will get back to you if you are kind enough to message me! Mac
Hey there,  I have been looking for a DM to run a Super hero game but in the style of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen in the MASKS or GURPS system, tackling literary or pulp heroes rather than capes. If you are interested let me know.
If I can play the thing, I'll be in. Send me an IM.
I’m interested in playing a pacifist Superman cheerleader/bard pc.
Any updates on this project?
This sounds super fun, I'd love to join if you still need players

I wasn’t planning on anything like that but now I gotta rethink it. Might be super fun for players to come up with superheroes based on old literary characters. but not sure the concept is what I would want to experiment with the system on. But will think about it.
Alex said: This sounds super fun, I'd love to join if you still need players Hi, I kind of thought the initial replies were folk goofing, so figured I would look elsewhere for interested people. go ahead and PM me if you or anybody is interested just so I’ll be able to keep you in mind. I’m still kind of experimenting and playing with the rules and especially the role 20 and Demi playing interface. When I do get started, I want it to be the smoothest experience possible. But yeah, send me a message and I’ll be able to remember to keep you in the loop!
This sounds really interesting and definitely something I haven't had the opportunity to dabble in. I would be interested in this as well.
I would love to play a super hero game. I have been looking for a Heroes Unlimited game for ages and I recently got the books for the new Marvel game. I am interested in learning more.

I am interested in learning more.  Is HU the makers of Villains and Vigilantes? I started DnD and other systems as a kid and I played most Superhero games thru the 90s, but Champs/Hero System was my go to. I got so many of my Dnd campaigns to play and love comics-based stuff. The Marvel Muliverse system is not perfect, but the support with Roll20 and Demiplane is great (but still seems kind of experimental which is why I am putting effort into getting to know it all and taking my time). But with my subscriptions anybody will be able to access the rules and character builder and all that. The material leans heavy in  the imagery and lots of its powers based on current Marvel media and especially the cash cow Spider Man. Though my old setting island Pacific Island techo state 40 years in the future (but set in a Marvel future reality) That combines Supers, cyberpunk, some post-apocalyptic, martial arts cinema, and tons of stuff. My comics background as far as collecting new stuff I am a 90's kid and not just Mavel and DC but the alternates like Wildstorm, Image, First Comics, Fem Force, etc.  I would warn that I promote role play and character development off the battlefield, so it won't just be about busting heads. Whatever genre I run for groups I put together there usually ends up being some great interactions between characters and the setting...though not exactly community theater or anything lol.  Anyway if anybody is interested please message me and tell me a bit about yourself and your gaming background or whatever and I can keep ya'll in the loop!
Fyi I just added a third paragraph to my already stuffed Roll20 profile bio so please take a look for some info on my style and also on my comics based gaming...
Heroes Unlimited is by a company called palladium books. I have wanted to play a spiderman level type of game. Kicking gang and mafia types heads and butts. King pen and higher. Don't need to be saving the galaxies from reality shattering things 10 times before breakfast life.
Usually Comics are not quite my forté, but your enthusiasm is infectious! Too bad that, as an European, only your Saturday afternoons would really work for me ~

Besides wanting to put something together for this, I’m also trying to gather up a couple new players for my ongoing D&D campaign so kind of juggling stuff at the moment. But hearing from people here or in my private message area will remind me to reach out to people when I feel I’m a little closer to putting this together. I pretty much know the rules now but working with the roll20 and Demiplane combined interfaces and learning how to use that without any problem is a little bit challenging at the moment, but I will get it done sooner than later. btw prob going to be rank 3 to start which is sort of between street level and Avengers level.

Too bad that, as an European, only your Saturday afternoons would really work for me ~ actually, many years ago when I was running long, successful D&D campaigns, I started springing champions games on my players. They hemmed and hawed at first, but after playing a session or two, they were really into it. And pretty much the majority of them never picked up a comic book in their life. My setting especially appealed across the spectrum because it’s not just supers. It’s cyberpunk and martial arts and action hero kind of stuff future noir and even pacific Island supernatural kind of events. My sessions were primarily Supers on the surface, but besides Marvel in DC, I also come from a place of alternative comics. Many of them not superhero related. So my setting in my games would really have a mix of genres. But sessions are all about a group of exceptional people. I’m just pretty open about what genres the characters can spring from. But there will always also be room for classic type heroes.
I am in a Beijing Time Zone, and if you are interested i can help with some ideas if you go with the League idea. I have been trying to get one off the ground ever since i played one PbP and had the itch to evolve it into a full fledged RPG.  PS: IDK why i cant post quotes
When/if might you get this up and running? Just as a reminder, I sent you a message a few weeks back.

Interesting. I would love to chat sometime. I'm not 100% sure I can find time to play because I run a DnD community of gamers, but I was exposed to Champions when I was younger and I DO own the Marvel rules on Roll20.
