Help - Selected Character Name Whisper goes to GM only

As the title suggests, one of my players' character token doesn't seem to be linked to the player. I'm not sure why, as all the other players' tokens work. I made chat menu macros for them which use the following at the beginning so that it only gets sent to them, then they can choose the macro they'd like to use. /w @{selected|character_name} However, for one player, the result is that it gets sent (To GM) and not (To Player). I'm not sure why this is. The token is connected to the correct sheet (2024 5e) and the sheet can be edited only by the player who controls it. The same settings are used for everyone else, respectively. I've never had this issue before, and his old token for his 2014 5e sheet still works fine and correctly. Thoughts?
The first thing I would check is the spelling of the character name. Watch out for trailing spaces.
I thought about that too but double checked and the name is fine. It still sends to GM.

Has the GM assigned themselves control over that character?
Gauss said: Has the GM assigned themselves control over that character? Nope. All players can view, only the player in question can edit. This is standard practice for my games, so the others are also set up in this way. I'm thinking I may need to do a customer macro for this player to work around this issue. /W Player This still works as a last resort.

Could you send me an invite to your game? I'd like to see if I can figure out the cause.
I got it working! There was another sheet that was offered a couple months back but was never used and the token was apparently linked to both sheets. Once I deleted the unused character sheet, the token started working straight away with the intended selection whisper. In-game, they'd been awarded an opportunity for a full character respec, but I gave them two new sheets so they could retain the old one, while allowing them the choice of the 2014 5e or the 2024 5e sheet. This player chose the newer sheet and didn't use the new one. Nonetheless, I'd prepped both with the token art before that game session and never noticed that it'd caused this (To GM) issue until now. Thanks for the help!
