Text Editor Issue- can no longer click on text to highlight/edit

Normally, you can use the select tool to click on text on a layer, which turns the text box editable and lets you click on text to highlight/cut/paste etc. As of a week ago my Roll20 stopped letting me do this. Now I can click on the text once to turn it into the editable field, but clicking on it again only exits the mode, the same behavior as when you click outside of the field. No ability to click on different places in the field or select/highlight whats already written.  I've tried deleting all cookies and setting, no success. Disabling plugins did not work, and neither did launching roll20 in incognito.  Anyone know what might be causing this?
I'm seeing the same behavior and I'm sending in a bug report about it.

Hi Coquiton,  I was not able to replicate this in either Chrome or Firefox on either Jumpgate or Legacy.  Could you provide a click-by-click process? Just to make sure that I am not missing something?
I'm Not Coquiton, but here's the process: 1.) Find a text object on the map, select it using the select tool. ->  Result: the editing box appears around the text within the text object. 2.) Using the mouse, try to place the cursor somewhere within the text. -> Result:  instead of placing the cursor within the text, the editing box closes. Thanks Rick A.,  What happens when you doubleclick instead of click, then try to click to place cursor separately?

This is maddening. Also seeing it on chrome. Extremely basic functionality that broke within the last few days.

yeah Rick A described it exactly right, thank you.  double clicking makes no difference. First click will open the editing box, second click will close it.

OK, I think I see what's going on. Create a text object. Deselect. Select the text object by clicking on it with the selection tool (not the text tool). It is selected. This is normal behavior. Double-click on it to activate text edit mode. You'll see the flashing cursor.  This is normal behavior Use your error keys to move the cursor location. It moves.  This is normal behavior. Click on a spot to move the edit cursor to that spot. The text object exits edit mode, and returns to selected object mode. This is new and unwanted behavior. Does this describe what you are seeing, Coquiton, Rick, and Clay?

I have also filed a report, with this.
Yes, this is it exactly. It happens with both Chrome and Firefox. Sorry  for not answering you  Gauss ; I haven't been back to the forum until just now. keithcurtis said: OK, I think I see what's going on. Create a text object. Deselect. I'm having this same problem, using Chrome. Additionally, selecting a text box used to give me the ability to rotate it; that is no longer the case.

This has reportedly been fixed. I have verified that cursor placement works normally, both with click and with keyboard. Quillfeather, I was unable to duplicate what you are experiencing. If you are still having issues this morning, I suggest  deleting cache and cookies ( Chrome  |  Firefox ), to ensure that the browser is not holding on to old data, and then logging out and back in again, to ensure that you have the latest code.
