I would like to run a D&D game where the players can choose between 2014 and 2024 characters, have a bastion sheet in-game, and eventually have a vehicle sheet for ships/airships. Why can't the guys in Roll20 do such a simple thing as this? Makes me wonder if this website will last against all the competition.    I had two reasons why I was not running games on roll20. The first one appears to be fixed so this is all that I am waiting on now.  2014 has vehicle sheets as an npc option, and you can use 2014 and 2024 in the same game...if you use jumpgate.
I tried to make a full 2014 character with the 2024 character sheet and I found it to be a real pain with the creator. I had to give up and do the sheet manually, so I am not impressed yet. Lots of extra I had to filter again and again. Basically, this experience shows me I want to stick with 2014 sheets for a 2014 game, and therefor I am still stuck with a single character sheet with no good secondary options.
I'm going to throw in my two cents: with the enhancement of the D&D 2024 sheet to have a "shop" subtype used for stores and treasure chests, it would be neat if this could co-exist in other kinds of games (eg, I play Traveller) to enable stores there.
+1 absolutely plleeeaase! Having to maneuver between 6-12 NPC sheets on one screen is madness, having them tabbed would be so much easier!!
I've been wanting the functionality to allow different sheet types in a single campaign for a LONG time.  Even if it's just different sheet types within the same system it would be insanely useful as many people have different preferences as to which character sheet they want to use.  Sometimes a more powerful robust sheet is required for one player but another player in the game doesn't need something so powerful as their character is more streamlined.  Especially with the integration of 3pp and homebrew into a campaign it can often be quite useful to have different sheets capable of different things for each player.  Likewise being able to have stuff like special sheets for special units or vehicles or different types of sheets for say gods vs mortals and the like.  And that's not to mention with newer games and systems there's often constant changes going on in the system, if a major overhaul hits a system during an ongoing campaign it would be far easier to have the "old" and the "new" character sheets together in one campaign when converting characters over as opposed to needing to open multiple windows with multiple campaigns or needing to export the sheet by hand to a text document or external resource and then remake it in a new campaign.  Hell it would even allow for different types of games to be played in one single "campaign" entry if say they have many overlapping assets but different rulesets for different sessions.  For example I'm working on setting up a world to use for small scale one-on-one games with people and some people might be interested in something high powered and robust while others might want something low powered and simplistic but I can use the same setting maps and assets for all of them.  Could even use it for something like a "generational" storyline where each generation is a different version of the game (like using AD&D first then moving on to D&D3.5 in the next gen, then 4e, and so on).
