Hello! As you all know, in your Campaign's settings there are a variety of measuring options that can be chosen. The majority of players use the default D&D 5E measuring option; this option makes it so moving diagonally on the grid map uses the same amount of movement as moving straight, and while this is more convenient, it is unrealistic. Players like me who dislike this may instead choose to use the Pathfinder/3.5E method where every second diagonal movement is equal to 10 feet instead of 5 feet; it isn't perfect, but it averages out to be more accurate than the standard method. While it's more realistic, it is incredibly inconvenient as each unique measurement always shows the first diagonal as 5 feet, even if it should be 10 feet due to already moving prior. This means you have to keep track of what number you're up to, and when breaking up movements with actions this becomes especially tedious. Lets say on your turn you move diagonally, attack someone, move diagonally again, interact with an object and then move diagonally again... you can see how this could quickly become a pain to remember whether the diagonal movement costs 5 or 10 feet of movement each individual time and how it'd be easy to lose track. Despite the more realistic proportions, players often choose not to use this option as it is not worth the added effort. Now to my point, I think that if there was an alternative measuring option where diagonal movements equaled 7.5 feet, it would give the players an option that is both easy to use and also more realistic at the same time. No more annoying memory games and wondering "oh man, did it cost 5 or 10 feet last time?" it'd just be a consistent number each time and it'd average out to the same total measurement anyways. It'd be really useful to a lot of players who appreciate more accurate measurements and I'd imagine it'd be a relatively easy feature to add! Thank you for your time :)
