Roll20 2024 token and DND Beyond

I'm sure this has already been discussed somewhere, but I can't find it. I have been on Roll20 for years, but I just created a new campaign on Roll20 2024. I cannot get the tokens on R20 to update from DnDBeyond character sheets. What I've always done before was 1. Create a character in R20 with exact name as on DNDB. 2. Create token from image, and select character name from step one, using HP on the first (green) circle. 3. Edit the character to have the new token as its default. I likely missed a step in the list here, but I've done this dozens (if not hundreds) of times. I just can't get it to work with 2024 characters on Roll20. Any ideas on what I'm missing?
It sounds like you are using the Beyond20 browser extension, or were previously. That is how information is passed from DDB to Roll20. Beyond20 does not work with the D&D 5E 2024 by Roll20 character sheet. D&D Beyond is a completely separate company from Roll20 and has nothing to do with this. The Beyond20 extension is a third-party browser extension that both Roll20 and DDB have no authority or control over. The best place for information on Beyond20 is on their Discord Server .

Hi Ray! You need a go-between. The only one I know of is the browser extension Beyond20. There is no built-in linking. Be aware that Beyond20 is a third party extension, and related to neither DDB or Roll20. Either company can (and do) change their data specs at any time, disrupting the connection until the folks behind Beyond20 put out a patch.
Thanks for the responses. You are both correct, we use the Beyond20 extension for this. Since it is not supported, and there doesn't seem to be any way to link DnDBeyond to Roll20 characters, is it easy(ish) to go back to using the 2014 Roll20 character sheet template? Should I just try to convince the players to update their tokens manually in Roll20? They really want to continue using DNDBeyond for character sheets. Does anyone else here do this?
You don't really need your PCs to use the 2024 sheet at all if everything is being tracked through DDB. Make sure your game has both sheets available, and create 2014 character sheets for your PCs with their same name. You don't need to fill them out, other than putting HP in Bar1. If you also want to put AC in Bar2, and Speed and/or 'passive_wisdom' in Bar3 and Bar4, then those can be helpful for quick reference while you're playing, but you'd have to update them manually whenever those characters are updated on DDB. There's a small chance that the game needs to be set for the 2014 sheet to be the 'primary' one for the game for Beyond20 to work if you have both 2014 and 2024 sheets in use. I can't remember the exact steps right now (some steps are outside the game on the Game Details page and others are inside the game on the righthand sidebar), but basically it just involves removing the current character sheet from the game, selecting 2014, then adding 2024 as the second one.

I just got a notice that Beyond20 received an update today, so it seems to still be active. I don't use it myself, but somehow I got onto their mailing list years ago and never bothered to unsubscribe.
And it looks like this update now allows for syncing hit points to the 2024 character sheets on Roll20! https://www.patreon.com/posts/beyond20-v2-18-0-153880397
