Art Assets Gone

Has there been a purge by Roll20 of Free Art Assets? I logged in to my game to find that all of the former art assets, most of which were modern in style, have been removed and a lot of new ones (fantasy style) added. The few free assets now found via the store are mostly fantasy based, which are of limited use for my Cyberpunk game. Is there any way to get those old art assets back?

Hi Kashvar, Roll20 doesn't remove art from your games. Could you clarify what you mean by free art assets? Do you mean the Google search in the Art Library tab? If so the google search is an archived search from over a decade ago. Much of the archived search results no longer work correctly due to websites dying over the years. Do you mean the free art section? If so that has been moved into this bundle: https://marketplace.roll20.net/browse/bundle/29016/legacy-art-library-bundle/ To claim them go into each pack, claim the pack (there is no longer a group claim for all the packs at once). If you mean something else, please provide a screenshot if possible.

I had used the word “ free ” as those assets were already available when I joined up to Roll20; I didn’t buy any. After reading a similar post earlier by Premier666, I did a little digging and it turned out to be everything that had been created by Stewart Werley. Turns out they are all still available, for free, in the Marketplace, but for some reason I had trouble trying to locate them as the search bar on Roll20 wasn’t bringing any of them up when I tried searching. Ultimately, I was able to track them down by using a Google search, which took me to the relevant assets on Roll20. A bit of a convoluted way to get them back, but my problem is solved for now at least. I still have no idea why they would have been removed in the first place though…

My Guess? an attempt to make the Art Library search zippier for folks who did not need that sort of asset. Those free assets really need to be communicated better to the users.
