Hi, I've created PRs for updates and new mods in the GitHub repo, but my question is: am I required to update the Roll20 wiki for the mods, or is that a staff task? The reason I ask is that I could not see a register facility on the wiki. Thanks
The Wiki is entirely community-driven. Users can add or edit it themselves, but there is no requirement to do so. However, it does appear that the ability to create an account is missing. I'll see what I can find out.
OK, I've inquired and tested. As long as you are currently logged into Roll20 you should be able to edit the wiki. I have tested on my main and both dummy accounts. What do you see here:
I just double checked, and that is not working for me. It shows my username as localhost, which is probably why I keep getting intermittent problems reading the wiki, with only a page of errors. I wonder if your user has been remembered from before, but as a new user, I was never logged in to continue accessing it.
I had considered that, which is why I tried with my two dummy accounts, neither of which has visited the wiki in the past. Do you have an ad blocker or VPN, or somethign which scrubs are denies cookies? I would suggest a Help Center Request , and I'll follow up with my own report, and we'll see if we can get this cleared up.
I do use a VPN and an ad blocker, but I tried disabling both; however, this was only in one browser. I shall attempt to use others with both disabled, and see if that helps. Thanks.
I've now attempted Chrome, Firefox, and Edge, clearing cookies and application data, and disabling the VPN and the Ad Blocker. I've also attempted in incognito mode on all three. I will raise a help request and see what support returns with.
I've had some emails with support. They have been able to reproduce this login issue with a testing account. The problem is being escalated to the dev team to see if they can help figure out what may be going on on the backend.
Good to know. I created a brand new dummy account and was able to repro your issue with it. Either my existing ones had indeed accessed the wiki in the past, or the issue lies with accounts created after a certain date. I hope this is speedily resolved. Anyone who is willing to edit the wiki is a boon to the community.
