May 2026 Update - Instant Dungeons, Stamp Tool, Curves, and More

We just released our biggest Dungeon Scrawl update to date, and it’s jam-packed with cool new tools, time-saving features, and a brand new way to start mapping. Here are the highlights: Random Dungeon Generator (beta): go from blank grid to dungeon in seconds, then customize to make it perfect for your game. Let us know how you’d like to see this tool evolve during beta!  Stamp Tool: add groups of images (like forests, debris, or crowds) to your maps without manually placing, positioning, and coloring them all  Curved Shapes & Lines: by popular demand: round the corners of your rectangles, and enjoy curve support for paths, polygons, and walls Lighting Upgrades [Pro]: new lighting settings feature customizable bright/dim radius, map-unit measurements, and 5e-inspired light presets for better effects that also upgrade the Send to Tabletop Lighting experience… broadcasting your maps while keeping your players in the dark Quality of Life Improvements: Multi-select layers, edit in bulk, and auto-place new objects into open folders, plus a heap of outstanding refinements and bug fixes Read the full breakdown on our blog , and let us know what you think!
Can we get a dungeon map that isn't 50 x 50?
Second the request for different sizes. I find that maps that are too large cause issues with several of my players on less than stellar computers. Plus, sometimes I just need a 20x20, build it, but have the full 50x50 show in roll 20 and is uneditable. Having to export each map and import it defeats the purpose of the live update.

The reason we haven't done it yet is that, unfortunately, it requires a greater cross-team effort from both VTT and Dungeon Scrawl developers, each of whom has a prioritized roadmap that they're working through. Making the sync window larger can negatively impact the performance of the VTT, so more research has to be done to see if that can be optimized. Your asking is helpful, though. The more demand for the work, the higher the chance it can be moved up in the priority queue.  Heath C. said: Second the request for different sizes. I don't think anybody has ever asked for a smaller  window. This is really interesting feedback. I'll bring this back to the devs today to see if it's something that could be implemented sooner.
