Living NPC Cast You'll encounter a recurring cast of survivors with their own goals, fears, secrets, and loyalties: PCs Katie (Cat) McGill U.S. Forestry Service Close Combat, Mobility, Survival Motorcycle, Axe, Knife. Cat is a survivor used to working alone in the wildness. She has survived by being wary. NPCS NAME BACKGROUND EXPERT TRAINED ISSUES Calvin “Cal” Reaves Highway maintenance worker Tech Endure Practical and blunt; his hands shake after nearly being trapped under a PennDOT truck. Maya Donnelly Veterinary assistant Medicine Survival Too compassionate; may risk the group to save an animal, child, or wounded stranger. Marcus “Coach” Reddick Former HS Wrestling coach Close Combat Leadership Protective but harsh; treats fear like weakness and survival like a locker-room test. Sabrina Holt College art student Stealth, Mobility Quiet and observant, but detached; keeps sketching the dead and things she sees. Gina Weller Deer processor / weekend hunter Ranged Combat Scout Good shot and useful outdoors, but deeply suspicious of strangers; shot someone during the panic, but refuses to talk about it. Some may become trusted friends, others may becomme deadly enemies...others will not survive. Meaningful Decisions This is not a combat-focused zombie-killing dungeon crawl. Expect difficult choices:
Save a stranger or preserve supplies?
Rescue a trapped family or keep moving?
Let a violent, but skilled survivor stay?
Tell the truth or betray for your own survival?
There are rarely perfect answers...and through it all, how do you maintain hope? Professional Presentation This campaign includes: ✅ Custom NPC artwork ✅ Short Character introduction videos ✅ Episode maps and handouts ✅ Atmospheric audio, music and sound fx ✅ Session recaps ✅ 3 years old Roleplaying community Discord server ✅ Organized Roll20 setup ✅ Long-term campaign continuity Tone & Inspiration The Walking Dead (Season 1) 28 Days Later The Last of Us George Romero's Dead films The Road This is a grounded survival drama where tension, scarcity, and human relationships are often more dangerous than the walkers themselves. What Makes This Different? Most zombie games start after society collapses. Allegheny Ashes begins while it is still happening. The military is still trying to hold ground. Radio broadcasts still play. People still think help is coming. They're wrong. You will witness the fall of civilization one day at a time. Free Session 0 + Free First Session I want players to know whether this game is right for them before spending a single dollar. That means: Free: Character Creation, introductions, campaign expectations, and group setup. Session 1: Your entire first game session. If you enjoy the experience and want to continue, the campaign becomes $15 per player per session beginning with your Session 2. No pressure. No commitment until you've actually played. About the GM I've been running tabletop RPGs for nearly five decades and online games for over a decade across Roll20 and other virtual tabletops. My focus is immersive storytelling, strong player agency, memorable NPCs, and campaigns where choices have lasting consequences. I grew up in Pittsburgh and have lived there for over 30 years. I was part of an independant film crew that shot a feature length zombie film in multiple locations in and near Pittsburgh. If you're looking for a gritty, character-driven survival horror campaign where ordinary people struggle to stay alive as the world falls apart around them, I'd love to have you at the table. "The radio says help is coming." "The walking dead on the highways say otherwise."
