Hello folks. Our group is currently just about in the exact middle of a War of the Burning Sky campaign. One of our players had a change in life circumstances so is no longer able to play with us. About the campaign: War of the Burning Sky is a 1-20 level adventure (we are currently at level 10) set in a unique, non-Golarion setting. The story thus far: our plucky heroes, originally from a neutral city-state known as Gate Pass, a lovely mountain fortress/town that is nestled precariously between the massive Ragesian and Shahalesti Empires. Ragesia is an empire run predominantly by orcs who have successfully taken over several nearby kingdoms over the lifespan of their previous Emperor Coaltongue. Coaltongue was a cunning general who had the power of a mysterious artifact known as the Burning Sky at his disposal--an artifact that allowed him to teleport whole armies with great precision to anywhere on the continent. Coaltongue has recently gone missing and is presumed dead, with the Burning Sky going missing with him. His former head inquisitor Leska has taken the throne by force and is expanding her core of arcane-hating inquisitors and is unleashing Ragesia's hordes against the remaining free kingdoms of the continent. Shahalesti is an empire of haughty, arrogant elves who believe that any non-elves are completely irrelevant, though many live within their borders as second class citizens. They are ostensibly at war with Ragesia at this time, but have made some moves to try to take advantage of this situation to expand their own borders. They are allies of convenience at the moment, though they are underhanded and difficult to deal with. The goal of the campaign is to stop 'Empress' Leska from acquiring the Burning Sky and subjugating the rest of the continent under the iron boot of Ragesia. We are to seek allies, battle Ragesia, try to recover the Burning Sky, and also investigate the mystery of these strange beings known as Children of Trillith. Our party is made up of the following characters: Liatris, a human female druid who is a former Ragesian soldier-turned-mom who just wants to protect her community of Gate Pass, even though her quest has taken her far away from said town. Ane-lara Jahovir, a female half-elven appearing ifrit who is a fire oracle and is a rebel against all things Ragesian--she is willing to pay any price to see them destroyed. And finally our silly non-binary changeling mesmerist Terry who is a punk straight from the gutter with a heart of gold. Despite the system being Pathfinder 1E, we are a group who focuses very heavily on role-play and story. We have been at this particular campaign for about a year now and estimate it to last about another year, give or take a few months. We as a group have mostly been playing together for years and anticipate doing another campaign when this one is finished, so it is a good opportunity to get into a long term group of story focused role-players. This is an older, mature group of players, though we definitely still have our antics and shenanigans (curse that Terry!) If you are interested, please send me a private message with the answer to the following questions: 1) What is your experience with tabletop RPGs, collaborative storytelling, and/or theater/improv? 2) What is it you enjoy most about tabletop games? 3) What do you believe is the most difficult challenge in joining an ongoing campaign and how do you feel you'd approach integrating? 4) We are a group that deeply enjoys our tabletop time each week and make sure we secure that time for ourselves. We do schedule checks at the end of each session and will proceed with a session if we are down only one player. Can you commit to weekly game sessions? Feel free to ask any questions here in this post so that others might also see the answers to them. =) Thank you for taking the time to read this post. I hope to hear from you soon. =D
