Hello, this is a listing for an Athas, The Dark Sun weekly game I am running. The game will go for 3 hours with a 15 minute break in the middle. We will be using Discord for voice, Roll20 for the game, and we will start at level 3. There will be a session 0 where we will make characters, discuss the world, create backstories, discuss any homebrew rules people have if any, and get a general feeling about what the games are like. Below you will see a few paragraphs about the setting and the hook of the campaign. I will be using the 4e Athas Campaign Setting as the foundation of the world. I hope we can venture into the waste together without being eaten by cannibalistic Halflings (Yes that's in this setting). Also, I have some out of game rules I expect you to follow: 1. This is an LGBTQIA+ Safe Zone 2. Don't treat anyone in or out of game badly 3. Do not take agency away from players 4. Do not say any harmful words towards anyone of any group 5. No slurs or any such language will be used in or out of game Athas, The Dark Sun. A desolate, desert planet ruined by arcane magics used in a long lost age by conquerors who sought domination, spoils, and slaves. Now Athens is ruled by the evil Sorcerer Kings and Queens, who each claim to be living gods in a world where divinity has all but abandoned it, and left mad men and women who put on the mask of godhood to justify their horrid desires by the means of slave labor. Each day on Athas is a struggle. A struggle to find supplies, a struggle to avoid slavers if you dare to step outside a city's walls, a struggle to survive raids from ravenous tribes, and a struggle to find hope. But hope is not lost. Tyr, a city in the far west has been a beacon to all those under the iron grip slavery and tyranny. Many risk their lives to even catch a glimpse at the city's wall, but not many complete this venture. The mad Sorcerer Kings and Queens and their cult followers the Templars make sure the slaves of the city are kept in line and don't escape. After numerous escape attempts the Sorcerer Kings and Queens have gave more power to the Templar’s, making escape a suicide mission, and use brutality and torutere against those they capture to stoke fear in those who thought of escape. Now many simply accept their fate as pawns to crazed politicians and dictators, that is until a new hope appeared, a group dedicated to freeing slaves, killing slavers, and helping freed slaves escape to the city of Tyr where they could be safe. This group is named the Freed Lancers. That is where you come in. You were all once prized slaves shackled to the side of the Sorcerer Queen Lalali-Puy, the absolute monarch of her city of Gulg. The city of Gulg is nothing more than an isolated commune, where each and everyone of the city's inhabitants worships Lalali-Puy as an infallible god, an eidolon of perfection, and the only reason there alive. On the outside Lalali is a beautiful and generous soul, who cares an unimaginable amount for her people while being a kindly mother figure to her own personal slaves. But only those very slaves know her true nature, when she is alone with her slaves behind her palace walls her mask drops, revealing a manipulative, seductive, and cold woman who demands nothing more than total subjugation of slaves and her people, and those who defy her are met with punishment that leaves marks, that tortures the mind, and leaves a brand upon flesh and soul as a reminder to what happens when you don't bow to the god-queen. But you were not alone, during your stay you formed friendships and maybe even relationships with the other slaves that made each day bearable as you all stood together to give each other strength during the darkest times. One day a member of The Freed Lancers broke into Lalali’s home to free her slaves. But when they were about to teleport away, Lalali found them and attempted to counterspell the teleport, but it failed, going wild and instead of teleporting to Tyr, the slaves were teleported all over the charted world of Athas. Now you must journey to find your lost slave brethren, make it to Tyr for safety, and defend yourself from the horrors of the waste.
