Pin It & Play On: Persistent Measurements for Spells, Auras & Hazards

I use Roll20's measurement tool constantly, both as a player and as a DM. It's fantastic for dropping a circle, cone, square, or line onto the map and immediately seeing exactly who is about to have a very bad day. The problem is that sometimes the fireball ends, but the fire doesn't. If I cast a spell that creates a 20-foot area for the next 10 rounds, I can measure it perfectly and use Linger to leave it on the map—but as soon as I need to click somewhere else, it disappears. As a DM, I run into the same problem with persistent hazards, magical darkness, difficult terrain, traps, auras, and environmental effects. I'd love one additional option: Pin Measurement (or Persistent Linger). Measure the area exactly as we already do, then click Pin and leave it on the battlefield until the player or DM removes it. The spell ends? Concentration breaks? The dragon finally stops breathing poisonous fumes into that hallway? Click it off and it's gone. Ideally, pinned measurements would: - Stay visible even after their creator continues playing. - Be visible to everyone by default, with a DM visibility option. - Keep the current grid-snapping and modifier-key precision controls. - Work with the measurement shapes we already have—circles, cones, squares, lines, etc. -change colors for multiple measured spell effects. No complicated new spell-template system is necessary. The measurement tool already does almost everything we need. Just give us a way to tell it: "Stay there until I say otherwise." As both a player and DM, I can think of situations where I'd use this almost every session.
+1 Agreed.  The current system is not useful for lingering effects, only instantaneous effects really, with lingering built the way it is. Especially since you can't even make a distance measurement without the area disappearing.
