[Free] [Play By Post] [pbp] [LFP] Completely bespoke fantasy or sci-fi game

I'm looking for a group of 4 players that are interested in playing fully original characters, stories, and settings that are not dependent on commercial source material. Players must have an earnest interest in creative writing and role play. I am developing my own ttrpg game system that allows a lot of freedom for you to define your own character with few limitations. Players will come together to decide on a genre (high fantasy or sci-fi) and will create their own fully original characters, weapons, skills, abilities, etc. as well as one location each (city or town) that ties their characters into the setting. I will interpret your creations through the machinery of my system (based on point buying) and we'll finalize the details together. Since the system is still in development, the rules will be a little fluid and imperfect - but I hope to refine them over time and strive to accommodate your fantasy. Mature game. No Romance or 'adult only' themes. The resolution mechanics are based on a d20 die and a handful of other simple mechanics that are intended to balance narrative freedom with meaningful planning and tactical decision making. I don't generate images or text with AI (but you may use it for your character portrait), and I'm not a gifted artist, so visuals will be a mishmash of online images, and simplified sketches. Do not use AI to write your posts. Once we have the characters and basic locations and plot set, I will build a world suitable for the story to develop and create the details and conditions that set your characters on their way. No silly characters (although a little humor is welcome). I'm still figuring out how to best set up the game, but we'll probably play through discord with roll20 battle maps. I ask that you keep your expectations low and show me some patience, because my schedule is hectic and doesn't leave me the time I wish I had to play TTRPGs, write, world build, and all the cool things I wish to escape into. All of the brainstorming and development involved in homebrew games is daunting and exhausting, but I'm craving something I can't find anywhere else. I expect you to be respectful and decent people, and I have little tolerance for interpersonal drama. You will be ejected from the game and your contributions will be erased from the world if you are habitually offensive. I am running this game for free on my spare time, after all. Treat it as a fun little side project you can interact with at your pace. I don't expect much commitment, but please help keep the flow of the game for your fellow players. I am not LGBTQ. This post will be updated as I conceive new details. Please message me with questions or concerns, and join up if only to show your interest. I want to know if anybody even wants to play something like this. I hope to write memorable stories with all of you. -SiB https://app.roll20.net/campaigns/details/21951993/completely-bespoke-homebrew-fantasy-or-sci-fi-game-original-game-system
Join my discord server if you would like a more direct and active line of communication. There, I run a mini one-on-one game to learn more about you and pass the time while waiting for players. https://discord.gg/FawskS4pQ
Once three or four players are present, we'll begin preparing the game. The first stage requires players to reach consensus about what kind of genre, setting, plot, and characters they are going to play. I'll then prepare the character sheets with the players, gather assets, and present the first scenario. Planning begins once we have more players, and play will begin once the first scene is ready.
