About the Game Have you ever wanted to be part of a mythological adventure? Slaying monsters, commanding armies against impossible odds, destroying cults, learning magic, being the champion of a god - or refusing to bow down to the fickle whims of a pantheon and rebelling against your destiny, battling demigods, fellow champions and being a legend of your own? Then this game is for you. Thrilias: The Lost God takes place in the D&D 5E setting "Mythic Odysseys of Theros"; a setting that is heavily inspired the works of Homer. In this beginner level campaign you will take on the role of adventurers and heroes, who stumble upon a secret that not even the gods of the heavens remember properly: the name of a forgotten god. But you know what they say: Three may keep a secret if two of them are dead. What will you do once other gods begin to remember, sending monsters or even their own champions to hunt you down? Will you bury the secret, keep it all to yourself, or go on a quest to restore the Lost God back to their place in the heavens? If you are a fan of Greek Mythology - ranging all the way from classics such as "the Iliad" and "the Odyssey", to more modern works such as "Percy Jackson & the Olympians", "the Song of Achilles" or "Circe" and have always wanted to tell your own story in such settings, then you will greatly enjoy Thrilias and the world of Theros. Levels: The game is intended to be played between Levels 1 to 20, where your individual progress and milestones will determine the level you'll be at by the end of the campaign! Campaign Length: The campaign will last anywhere between 50 to 90 sessions depending on how fast or how slow you progress the story. You and your party control the pace - it's a sandbox experience; I have the skeleton of the campaign, but it is your choices and interactions that will form the meat of the actual game time! Characters: We will endeavor to make characters that fit the setting: the book Mythic Odysseys of Theros has some lovely feedback on how to craft characters with fatal flaws and heroic traits that will make your characters feel a lot more like figures from mythology. The details of your characters & backstories will happen after we have Session 0 together to decide on concepts and after I give you any relevant information that would help you with the process of deciding your character's story. I do have a few rules in regards to species, such as sticking with species that are locals to Theros, but otherwise most of character creation will happen as a collective effort of the entire group. System: We will be using D&D 5.5 that released in 2024, so the most recent edition for the rules. Experience Level: All experience levels are welcome! Whether you are a beginner just learning D&D or an experienced veteran of the game, you are welcome at this table! Scheduling: Current Set Time: 6 PM British time. Current Set Day: Fridays, Weekly. Currently all seats are open, looking for about 3 to 6 players tops. Payment: This game will require payment to the Game Master at a rate of 30£ per session, per player, via PayPal. Roll20 is not responsible for any payment transactions and cannot enforce any private arrangements. Payment will be issued via PayPal, in 30£ per player, per session and we will be playing weekly. In the case of a cancellation, unless it was a case of emergency or unexpected complication (ranging from a terrible cold to something you could not have foreseen), you need to let me know at the latest 24 hours before the session, or you will be charged. ABOUT ME: Hello! Nice meeting you! My name's Onur. I am a writer, translator, a story teller, and - well, I professional game master. I have been into tabletop games for two years and have been running games professionally for about the same time. I've been playing and running D&D for years now with two long running campaigns as well as one-shots here and there. I have been a professional Game Master for 4 years. Roleplaying and telling stories has been a huge passion of mine for as long as I could remember, and thanks to the magic of the internet, I get to do that with bunch of amazing other people from all over the world! Theros is an all time favourite setting of mine, and I have always been a big mythology nerd, so I immediately jumped the opportunity to run this campaign. My GMing Style: As a GM, I enjoy games that lean more into a linear style of story telling; with one thing leading to another. As mentioned above: the lands of Theros are yours to explore in a sandbox-like experience, and I'm always willing to stretch and bend my story so you can fully enjoy what the world has to offer for you; I have the bones and the skeleton, you form the rest of this journey with your choices, be they good or bad. I put more emphasis in character growth, stories and development rather than dice rolling. The game will be %60 roleplay, %40 combat. I understand the magic math rocks are very pretty and we all love to roll them, but I always prioritize the narrative, and I am definitely a rule of cool guy, so long as we don't go overboard. So, if you are expecting a game of only dice rolling, combat heavy and minimum roleplay - I respect your choice, but I'm probably not the right DM for you. On the other hand, if you enjoy creating a collaborative story at the table and like to see your characters grow and change over time and roleplay with myself as well as your fellow players while still getting to do cool shit during combat, as well as explanation, then look no further and come right in! I enjoy games where we come together to create a collaborative story with the people at my table, considering plot hooks and the overall narrative of the world. I do my best to craft a story that will have individual reasons to draw your characters in rather than you feeling like you are being dragged along an adventure. I tailor the experience to compliment each and every one of your characters and their stories; where we watch the player characters have a development - for better or for worse, that's up to you - and following their journey. That's what these games are about for me; telling a good, entertaining story with its up and down moments, and leaving the table feeling satisfied. Parting Words: Being 18+, women, BIPOC and queer friendly is a must. I do not tolerate bigots. As I said, all experience levels are welcome. I can work with anyone who has only heard about D&D in passing to experienced, veteran players so long as all of us are open to constructive criticism and are respectful towards each other. This is a collaborative experience, so if someone has an issue with something that happened we should be able to handle it gracefully. If you have made it this far, once again, thank you for taking the time to read my post! I hope to see you at the table for an epic adventure we will all be going on together! If you are at all interested in playing this game with me please respond to this post or to the listing link with below: https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/436972/thrilias-the-lost-god Name (a nickname is also fine): Age: Pronouns: Time zone: Anything I should know: Questions for me: We will have a 30-40 minutes long interview via Zoom to see if we match each other's energies and if we would make a good fit together beforehand. Once that is done, if we are all satisfied, we will be ready to begin! Make sure to have a Discord account at the latest before Session 0. I hope I get to hear from you soon! Have a nice day / night!
