Call of Cthulhu 7e meets Supernatural — a 1930s religious horror campaign It’s the 1930s. Your investigator has an ordinary life and a reasonable understanding of how the world works. That understanding is about to become a problem. I’m developing a Call of Cthulhu 7e campaign that replaces traditional Lovecraftian lore with lore from Supernatural , and I’m looking for five players to get it rolling in October. I’d also like to hear from anyone interested in helping develop the campaign. This won’t be a “monster of the week” game. I want to preserve the investigation, dread, and tension of traditional Call of Cthulhu. Your characters aren’t experienced hunters. They’re ordinary people caught up in something they don’t understand, trying to make sense of it—and live with what they discover. The campaign will focus heavily on religious horror, particularly demons and Judeo-Christian mythology. Supernatural provides the foundation, but I’m drawing from other sources that I’ll keep under wraps for now. Expect some liberties with religious beliefs and traditions. If that would make the game uncomfortable for you, this probably won’t be a good fit. The practical details: Platform: Roll20, voice only. Schedule: Every other week, Monday or Tuesday nights, depending on the group’s availability. Time zone: U.S. Central Time—GMT−5 during daylight saving time and GMT−6 during standard time. Experience: Beginners are very welcome. You don’t need to have watched Supernatural . Length: This will be an ongoing campaign. We’ll begin with character creation and move into a prologue to bring the investigators into the story. If schedules allow, I’d like to hold the first few sessions over three days in mid-October before settling into our regular schedule. If this sounds like your kind of game, reply here or message me on Discord at mrsmithinator . Let me know your availability, what interests you about the campaign, and whether you’d like to play, collaborate, or both.
